Ametek PTMC is seeking a highly motivated and organized Operations Accountant to join our business unit and support our locations in Peabody MA and Keene NH.  The role will report to the Business Unit Controller and be based in Peabody, MA with occasional travel to Keene NH.  The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of cost accounting principles, have strong attention to detail, excellent time management and communication skills, and a passion for continuous improvement.

PTMC is made up of 2 primary business lines:  Precitech designs and manufactures the world’s most advanced ultra-precision machining solutions for freeform diamond turning, milling, and grinding which are used to produce optical lenses, mold inserts, mirrors, and precision mechanical components for defense, aerospace, consumer optics and other high-tech industries and; TMC designs and manufactures the world’s most complete line of precision vibration control systems, serving a broad range of applications including semiconductor manufacturing, life science research, optics, metrology, and numerous academic, industrial and military research projects by providing cost-effective, elegant solutions to problems caused by ambient building floor vibration. 

Primary Responsibilities
•    Develop and implement cost standards for materials, labor, and manufacturing overhead and keep updated in ERP system.
•    Develop and analyze standard cost report suite to include material usage and manufacturing variances and enable root cause analysis.
•    Monitor and report on inventory levels, production costs, and returns.
•    Conduct and oversee regular physical inventory cycle counts and reconciliations.
•    Work closely with operations and supply chain teams to identify, quantify, and track cost-saving opportunities.
•    Prepare, review, and analyze monthly and annual financial statements in an accurate and timely manner and in line with US GAAP.
•    Assist with annual budgeting and monthly forecasting.
•    Ensures procedures and internal controls are followed in compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley and assist with audit and compliance activities as assigned.

Role Requirements
•    Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
•    5+ years of experience in accounting, preferably with 2-3 years in a manufacturing and equipment/engineering environment
•    Strong working knowledge of inventory cycle counts and cost accounting
•    Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a thorough knowledge of accounting principles to create and analyze financial reports and forecasts
•    Ability to explain complex financial information in a clear and concise manner
•    Strong communication skills and the ability to work with diverse groups cross-functionally 
•    Detail oriented, organized, a demonstrated focus on process improvement, and ability to work on multiple tasks/projects concurrently
•    Positive attitude, strong work ethic, and ownership mentality
•    Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly with Excel.  Experience with Power BI is an advantage
•    Experience using Dynamics AX and Visual a plus.
