Our products are manufactured in our world-class, 80,000 square foot, vertically integrated, manufacturing facility and headquarters in Peabody, Massachusetts on Route 128, “America’s Technology Highway.” To manufacture most of our products we literally start with sheets of steel coming in our loading dock where they are laser cut, bent, welded, drilled, ground, sanded, polished, painted, assembled into final products and shipped to customers on all seven continents.

TMC Applications Engineer is a key driver of the Sales, Marketing, and Engineering functions focused on growing TMC’s world leading vibration control products by providing commercial, strategic, and technical guidance to customers, marketing, sales, and service personnel. This is a high visibility position ideal for an Engineering or Physical Science professional seeking to make a direct contribution to TMC’s strategic customer focused and technical initiatives at our Peabody, MA facility. This position offers opportunities for professional growth and development as it plays a critical role in executing TMC’s growth strategies in a cross functional, matrixed environment.
• Own customer inquiries by providing timely and professional responses to international customers, communicating commercial and technical information related to TMC products.
• Analyze technical data to understand the application to develop application specific solutions.
• Define and document special customer product configurations.
• Key interface between customers, sales, service, marketing, production, and engineering.
• Prepare and execute customer presentations, quotations, bid packages, and proposals.
• Utilize CRM system (Salesforce) for new business opportunities, sales qualified leads, quotes.
• Follow the special engineering process and manage customized products and quotes.
• Contribute to short term and long term product development and improvement plans by actively collecting voice of customers and market intelligence related to new applications and emerging technologies, competitive activities, maintaining an awareness of TMC customers and markets.
• Write application notes, case studies, technical literatures, white papers, sales collaterals, FAQs, and other digital contents including video product demonstrations and webinars.
• Prepare, conduct, and participate in training and education programs focusing on product capabilities, installation best practices and applications.
• Demonstrate a professional approach to the job with good interpersonal skills.
• Represent TMC at customers meetings, conferences, seminars, webinars, trade shows, and give presentations and host technical Q&A sessions.
• Visit customers to present proposals, resolve technical issues, and assist in closing orders.
• Visit customers to perform on-site environment surveys and write the reports
• Responsible for business presentations to management team when required.
• Provide market research, pricing analysis, competitive analysis regularly and when required
• Work with all sales reps, distributors, channel partners to collaborate and win business for TMC
• Work with all AMETEK colleagues to collaborate and win business for TMC
Requirements:
• B.S. in an Engineering discipline or a Physical Science. B.S. in ME or Physics is a plus.
• 3 to 5 years experience in applications engineering, technical sales, or relevant positions is a plus.
• Experience in vibration control or vibration measurement is a plus.
• Experience with Electron Microscopy, Life Science, Semiconductor customers is a plus.
• Good technical sales skills, negotiations skills, consultation skills is a plus.
• Expected to quickly develop knowledge of TMC vibration control and related products to understand their basic designs, functions, specifications, capabilities, and applications.
• Ability to collaborate and teamwork across multiple functional teams.
• Attention to details. Effective time management skills.

• Computer Savvy with Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint.
