This Multi-Platform Systems Engineer position will report to the Director and is expected to interact with and support the Forza Engineering and administrative staff. Duties include deploying, configuring, and maintaining physical and virtual Linux/Windows servers, and workstations for the business unit.  Candidates with more than five years’ system administration experience, working primarily with Linux servers and networks will be considered. The candidate will be able to integrate Microsoft Windows and macOS products in a Linux environment and manage systems and applications supported by these platforms.  .

 

Primary Responsibilities:

 

  • Manage Linux Servers (CentOS / RedHat / Ubuntu) including the application programs, operating systems and the physical/virtual infrastructure that runs them

  • Manage the Installation of tools/applications on Linux systems (CentOS / RedHat / Ubuntu)

  • Configure and maintain Linux/Windows and MacOS workstations

  • Create and maintain shell scripts

  • Maintain and manage all license servers

  • Provide technical support, working both over the phone/via chat/video with end-users, documenting resolution through a ticketing system

  • Utilize troubleshooting skills to triage issues with tools running on a Linux system

  • Ensure Cyber/Security conformance by ensuring that Critical Vulnerabilities are addressed

  • Conduct security audits for all servers and end-user systems and devices

  • Implementing software upgrades, patches, and hardware changes

  • Manage backup of data and ensure integrity and availability of stored data, monitor compliance with policy and procedures

  • Maintain clear documentation of system(s) and maintenance activity

  • Review daily monitoring jobs/logs to ensure system performance and availability

 

Position Requirements:

  • Bachlors Degree plus 5 years experience in information technology including Server installation, maintenance, and administration in a Linux environment

  • Experience as a Linux System (CentOS / RedHat / Ubuntu) and Server Administrator

  • Experienced in Linux Command Line and Scripting

  • Experience with VNC client/servers on Linux platforms

  • Experience with troubleshooting VPN issues

  • Experience with Virtualization / Virtual Desktop Infrastructure

  • Knowledgeable of access control across operating systems, file systems, and services

  • Knowledgeable of system auditing/log analysis processes and tools

  • Exceptional verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills, including the ability to communicate effectively with people remotely and debug hardware issues

  • Positive, self-motivated individual who can complete tasks independently

  • Possess a drive to learn and is adaptable to new or changing technologies

  • Excellent technical documentation skills

  • Experience with IC Design-related tools (ICManage Cadence Virtuoso suite, Mentor Graphics Calibre, PDKs) is a plus

  • Experience with Synology NAS or similar servers is a plus

  • Experience with an ERP system is a plus

  • Experience should include planning and undertaking non-disruptive or minimally disruptive upgrades and new installations

  • Experience with backup, directory services and application and operating system management in a networked environment

Salary Minimum:  $85,000
Salary Maximum:  $95,000
