We are seeking a Precision Assembler to join our Operations team in Ottawa, Canada. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assemble, clean, calibrate, test, package, ship electronic and mechanical assemblies, including industrial cameras, in a clean room environment
  • Responsible for quality assurance
  • Responsible for shipping the right working camera, to the right customer at the right time
  • Troubleshoot, repair or work on electronic assemblies
  • Shipping/receiving and order entry
  • Work with Engineering, Customer Support, Sales, on ensuring standards are met and product conforms to customer requirements
  • Documenting and improving operations procedures
  • Participate in the development of new product introduction process (testing, assembly process and documentation)

 

REQUIRED SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES:

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 3-5 years of hands-on production manufacturing/operations
  • Solid mathematical aptitude
  • Ability to read and interpret technical documentation, including Bill of Material (BOM), schematics and optical layouts
  • Excellent manual dexterity and attention to detail to handle delicate optical components
  • Collaborative team player with a focus on problem-solving
  • Ability to work independently and to be flexible/adaptable with shifting priorities
  • Organized, conscientious and focused
  • Basic computer skills for data entry, documentation, and communication
  • Capable to lift up to 20 lbs. and standing for extended periods of time
  • Driven to achieve with a commitment to quality with a safety-first mindset

 

PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Ability to follow defined processes
  • Hardware debugging; soldering
  • Ability to adjust priorities based on workload demands
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline driven
  • Knowledge of how to handle electronic components in an ESD environment
