Pixelink designs and manufactures high-quality industrial cameras and software for machine vision, life science, and custom OEM applications. Working closely with Navitar, we combine cameras, precision optics, software, and engineering expertise to deliver integrated imaging solutions. We are seeking a Sales Applications Engineer to support the growth of Pixelink's OEM camera business This role combines technical sales, applications engineering, and customer support. You will work directly with customers to understand their applications, identify technical requirements, recommend the right imaging solution, and help move opportunities from initial discussion through evaluation, design-in, and production.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Partner with the sales team to identify, qualify, develop, and close OEM camera opportunities.
- Participate in customer calls, site visits, demonstrations, and trade shows.
- Ask effective discovery questions to understand customer applications, technical challenges, and commercial requirements.
- Recommend standard, modified, or custom Pixelink/Navitar camera and lens solutions.
- Advise customers on sensor selection, resolution, frame rate, interfaces, software, and system integration.
- Conduct product evaluations, application testing, and proof-of-concept demonstrations.
- Support customers with camera setup, software configuration, image acquisition, and troubleshooting.
- Coordinate customer requirements with Engineering, Product Management, Quality, Operations, and Sales.
- Provide timely pre-sales and post-sale technical support.
- Develop technical presentations, application notes, demonstrations, and sales training materials.
- Share customer, market, and competitive feedback with internal teams.
- Create and document technical content.
- Serve as the technical product expert for the sales team.
REQUIRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Optics, or a related technical field.
- Experience in sales engineering, applications engineering, technical sales, or another customer-facing technical role.
- Knowledge of machine vision, industrial cameras, imaging systems, or related technologies.
- Understanding of image sensors, resolution, frame rate, exposure, sensitivity, dynamic range, and global and rolling shutters.
- Strong communication, presentation, problem-solving, and customer-engagement skills.
- Ability to translate customer problems into practical technical solutions.
- Comfortable participating in, or leading, sales calls and supporting commercial discussions.
- Ability to manage multiple customer opportunities and technical requests.
- Willingness to travel up to 50%, including occasional international travel.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate complex technical information clearly and succinctly and work effectively with cross-functional teams in a fast-paced environment.
- Demonstrated accountability and responsibility for delivering results.
- Strong collaboration and teamwork skills, balanced with the initiative and self-direction to work independently.
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:
- USB3 Vision or GigE Vision standards knowledge.
- Camera SDKs, APIs, and image-acquisition software.
- Lens selection, illumination, field of view, and working-distance calculations.
- Experience supporting OEM customers and engineering-driven sales processes, from initial evaluation and design-in through production release.
