Job Summary:
The Director Business Development will lead organic growth efforts in the data center, renewables and microgrid sectors. This role will analyze current business performance and define a comprehensive go to market strategy which should seek incremental growth in this key target vertical. This individual will drive development of key relationships, identify upcoming projects, and ensure IntelliPower’s ruggedized UPS and solutions are specified into project designs. The ideal candidate will have the ability to map stakeholders across large organizations, develop a long-term strategy for engagement, and call on organizations throughout the data center/microgrid value stream.

 

Key Responsibilities:
•    Define and execute a business development strategy targeting data center, renewables and microgrid projects.
•    Build and lead an empowered, sustainable, and ambitious team to achieve individual and collective targets.
•    Key point of contact for development of relationships with targeted power solutions integrators, energy companies, and key industry stakeholders.
•    Map and engage stakeholders across large organizations, identifying decision-makers and influencers at each stage of the sales process.
•    Contact organizations throughout the entire value stream, including developers, consultants, engineering firms, EPC contractors, and end users.
•    Generate leads, schedule meetings, and conduct presentations to educate potential clients on IntelliPower product offerings and value.
•    Develop and execute the sales strategy to increase market share while maximizing profit.
•    Responsible for meeting and exceeding monthly, quarterly and annual sales commitments in orders and shipments while achieving expected profit within target industries.
•    Support departmental market research activities that include market size, application, technical requirements and industry trends.
•    Work cross-functionally to support definition of new product requirements, competitive analysis, multi-year sales forecasts, and project justification including return on investment.
•    Spend a significant portion of time in the with Business Development Manager(s), individual key accounts and co-traveling with the team.
•    Maintain an up-to-date pipeline of prospects and opportunities in CRM, providing accurate sales forecasts.
•    Attend industry events, trade shows, and networking opportunities to expand market presence.
•    Stay informed on market trends, emerging technologies, and competitor activities within the data center, renewables and microgrid sectors.

 

Minimum Qualifications:
•    Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or similar field required. MBA preferred.
•    8+ years’ experience with Uninterruptible Power Supply or Power Electronics / Systems.
•    Minimum of 5 years’ experience at a leadership level.
•    Product or industry knowledge in data center, renewable and microgrid power applications.
•    Proven track record of success in leading and managing business development teams to deliver consistent year-over-year revenue growth.
•    Experience with MS Office tools: PowerPoint, Outlook, Excel, Word.
•    Experience with CRM tools (Salesforce preferred).
•    Ability to travel up to 50%.
•    Due to the nature of our programs and products, applicants must have the legal right to work in the U.S. and additionally must be legally authorized to access export-controlled information and source code.

Compensation

Employee Type:  Salaried
Salary Minimum:  $150,000
Salary Maximum:  $180,000
Incentive:  Yes
