Job Description: 

SUMMARY

Perform and carry out the duties to support the inbound (receiving) and outbound (shipping) activities and transactions.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Ensure all shipping and receiving transactions and duties are carried out in a timely manner to meet the daily, weekly, and monthly goals.
  • Carry out all shipping/receiving duties, including ORACLE transactions and physical distribution of incoming materials related to manufacturing and business operations.
  • Execute the vendor returns (outbound shipments) as part of the MRB process.
  • Assist leadership through provided systems, written, and verbal communication within the Supply Chain, Manufacturing and Shipping areas to prioritize activities that drive on time delivery performance.
  • Coordinates carrier pick-ups with the appropriate carriers.
  • Assist in the resolution of shipping and receiving issues in a timely manner.
  • Responsible for the distribution of all incoming and outgoing mail/packages.
  • Physically package and execute all shipment requests for shipment.
  • Store supplies and performs all related transactions in Oracle.
  • Perform cycle count inventory daily.
  • Follow written procedures for day-to-day routine actions.
  • Carry out Drop Shipments from offsite locations.
  • Maintain certifications and training requirements for international and hazardous materials shipments.
  • Cross train with other Material Handler roles within the department.
  • Provide coverage for other Material Handler responsibilities as needed.
  • Provide support for other duties as needed to support the overall business needs.

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE

  • High School Diploma
  • 6+ months of related or relevant experience

 

LANGUAGE SKILLS

  • Read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Verbally communicate effectively to other employees of the organization.
  • Communicate effectively through email and MS Teams messaging.

 

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

  • Add and subtract two-digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's.
  • Perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.

 

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to:

  • Apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. 
  • Deal with problems involving variables in standardized situations.

 

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

Must have current Tennessee driver’s license and forklift operator certificate

WORK ENVIRONMENT

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to toxic or caustic chemicals, outside weather conditions, and risk of radiation. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
