As an SI Assoicate Electrical Engineer you will be responsible for the design development and support of instrumentation and measurement products. This position entails all types of board-level circuit design with an emphasis on analog and mixed signal circuit design including low noise amplifiers, power supplies, analog-to-digital converters, and basic digital interfaces. The SI Associate Electrical Engineer will also entail support in product sustenance and production support activities as well as participation in new product design, development, and product validation. Your job duties also include monitoring, identifying, and resolving lifecycle issues and assisting to identify alternate components.
Responsibilities include:
- Conceptualize, design, implement and validate electronic products using mixed signal, analog and digital design.
- Support New Product Engineering to identify appropriate component Manufacturers and Suppliers to ensure availability and longevity for New Product Life Cycle.
- Provide on-going Sustaining/Value Engineering support to identify, test and qualify alternate sources for component availability, cost reduction and reliability improvement.
- Oversee New product development from concept through manufacturing and release to the market.
- Provide technical assistance with Manufacturing and Customer Service in resolving problems encountered in product production on customer applications.
- Support Supply Chain to identify appropriate sources and substitute components suitable for ongoing production requirements for long-lead, out-of-stock or obsolete components and perform component level tests and experiments to ensure form, fit, and function compatibility.
- Support outside Contract Manufacturing houses for technical component issues and testing support.
- Manage compliance testing and documentation.
Requirements:
- AS in Electrical Engineering required. BS in Electrical Engineering preferred
- 3+ years of relevant electronics design, testing and manufacturing support experience.
- Basic knowledge of Analog, Digital design, and power supply design.
- Familiarity with Schematics tools like PADS Designer.
- Familiarity with electronic design simulation and worst-case circuit analysis tools like SPICE.
- Technical knowledge of electronic components.
- Good electronics troubleshooting skill.
- Ability to read and understand electronic component datasheets, schematic drawings, and PCB layouts.
- Knowledge of component specifications, quality definitions and reliability calculations
- Familiarity with RoHS, REACH, and other compliances.
