Job Title: Product Manager - Nuclear Security

The Product Manager will mange the ORTEC Nuclear Security product line consistent with aggressive growth targets for the ORTEC business. This role will generate innovative new product ideas and product lifecycle formalization. This role will support the Product Management Nuclear Security in development and maintenance of strategic technical roadmaps.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
· Develop and implement winning strategies for each assigned product line. Internally socialize, promote, and be a leader in executing those strategies with global R&D, global sales, and global services organizations.
· Lead “Voice of Customer” efforts and create product definition requirements to drive inputs for the new product development process.
· Be “Voice of Customer” for technology focused new product development team to relay application knowledge pertinent to the development of new products.
· Validate new products against customer requirements to ensure new ORTEC products delight the user.
· Mine, track, evaluate, and forecast product line performance verses business unit objectives.
· Significantly contribute to the creation of marketing and sales literature for new product introductions, technical sales tools, application notes, journal papers, advertisements, commercial plans, etc.
· Attend worldwide trade shows and sales demonstrations as appropriate to promote products and gain market intelligence.
· Perform sales training for the worldwide sales force for new products, products with new competitive threats, and products to be promoted in new markets.
Education and/or Experience
· Bachelor’s degree (B.S.) in engineering from an accredited university. Preferably in nuclear physics or nuclear engineering.
· An advanced degree including an MBA is preferred.
· One or more years of experience in product management, technical marketing, or technical sales, preferably in nuclear measurement instrumentation or systems.
· Communication skills are vital to this role. The successful candidate must be able to:
· Write creative, structured, technically and grammatically correct literature.
· Make confident presentations in a scientific or business environment.
· Fluent spoken English is a requirement. A second language is an advantage.
· Define problems, collect and analyze customer/industry/segment data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
· Other critical skills desirable in this role:
· Experience in the use of radioisotope identification devices
· Knowledge and understanding of basic business principles including a P&L statement, market segmentation, and competitive analysis.
· Strong project management and leadership skills. Ability to gather the support of organization wide resources and to focus on achievement of development objectives.
· Self-motivated with a bias for action
· Proficiency with various analytical, database, and presentation software to include Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint and similar.
Technical Knowledge/Requirement
This position requires a self-starting, results oriented, individual who can drive results which include topline growth and consistent margin/profit improvement. In addition, a strong technical background in radiation detection instruments and applications is desired.
