Job Description: 

The Director of Sales, Americas is a key member of the ORTEC leadership team, contributing directly to the development and execution of the business’s growth strategy across North and South America. This role is responsible for leading regional sales performance, strengthening customer and channel relationships, and ensuring disciplined commercial execution aligned with ORTEC’s strategic priorities.

 

The position reports directly to the Vice President of Sales & Service and works closely with global and regional leaders across Marketing, Product Management, Operations, Finance, and Applications to drive sustainable growth in the Americas.

 

GROWTH & REVENUE PERFORMANCE

  • Own bookings, revenue, and margin performance across the Americas region, ensuring achievement of annual and multi‑year growth targets.
  • Develop and execute regional sales strategies aligned with ORTEC’s priorities in nuclear security, safeguards, industry, and research markets.
  • Drive disciplined pipeline management, forecast accuracy, and deal governance to deliver predictable results.
  • Identify and pursue growth opportunities across key accounts, new applications, and underserved markets within the region.

 

CUSTOMER & MARKET LEADERSHIP

  • Serve as the senior commercial escalation point for strategic customers, government agencies, and key partners in the Americas.
  • Strengthen ORTEC’s regional market position through consistent value messaging and competitive differentiation.
  • Partner with Marketing and Product Management to align customer needs, regional market trends, and product positioning.
  • Guide the Americas sales team on market segmentation, account prioritization, and channel strategy.

 

SALES OPERATIONS & EXECUTION DISCIPLINE

  • Establish and maintain consistent sales processes, tools, and performance metrics across the Americas.
  • Own regional forecasting cadence, CRM discipline, and sales performance reporting.
  • Ensure pricing discipline, contract alignment, and commercial risk management in partnership with Finance and Operations.
  • Drive continuous improvement in sales effectiveness, win rates, and sales cycle efficiency across the region.

 

TEAM LEADERSHIP

  • Lead, coach, and develop the Americas sales organization, including sales managers, account managers, and applications partners.
  • Build a strong succession pipeline and reinforce consistent sales leadership expectations within the region.
  • Foster a performance‑driven culture of accountability, collaboration, and customer focus.
  • Partner with HR to support talent development, performance management, and retention strategies.

 

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

Experience Required

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and progressive commercial experience.
  • 8–12+ years of experience in sales, commercial leadership, or business development roles, with primary responsibility for the Americas region.
  • Demonstrated success leading regional sales teams or managers within a matrixed organization.
  • Strong working knowledge of forecasting, pipeline management, pricing discipline, and margin management.
  • Proven ability to collaborate effectively with Marketing, Product Management, Operations, Applications, and Finance.
  • Experience operating within a global organization and partnering with international peers preferred.

 

Technical Requirements

  • Strong proficiency with CRM platforms (Salesforce or equivalent) and sales reporting tools.
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel and PowerPoint, for analysis and executive‑level presentations.
  • Solid understanding of regional sales operations, forecasting methodologies, and KPI management.
  • Working knowledge of pricing strategies, contract negotiation, and commercial risk management.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to influence senior leaders, customers, and government stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and decision‑making skills.

 

Working Environment:

  • Office‑based leadership role with extensive interaction with sales teams across North and South America.
  • Regular collaboration with cross‑functional and global stakeholders across multiple time zones.
  • Significant travel required (approximately 60%), primarily within the Americas, to support customers, distributors, regional teams, and key business initiatives.
  • Fast‑paced, results‑driven environment with shifting priorities, high visibility, and frequent executive engagement.

Employee Type:  Salaried
Salary Minimum:  $165,000
Salary Maximum:  $200,000 +
