Job Title: Director of Sales, Americas

The Director of Sales, Americas is a key member of the ORTEC leadership team, contributing directly to the development and execution of the business’s growth strategy across North and South America. This role is responsible for leading regional sales performance, strengthening customer and channel relationships, and ensuring disciplined commercial execution aligned with ORTEC’s strategic priorities.
The position reports directly to the Vice President of Sales & Service and works closely with global and regional leaders across Marketing, Product Management, Operations, Finance, and Applications to drive sustainable growth in the Americas.
Key Responsibilities:
Growth & Revenue Performance
- Own bookings, revenue, and margin performance for the Americas region, ensuring delivery of annual and multi-year growth targets
- Develop and execute regional sales strategies aligned with priorities across nuclear security, safeguards, industry, and research markets
- Drive pipeline discipline, forecast accuracy, and deal governance for predictable results
- Identify and pursue growth opportunities across key accounts, applications, and underserved markets
Customer & Market Leadership
- Act as senior escalation point for strategic customers, government agencies, and key partners
- Strengthen regional market position through clear value messaging and competitive differentiation
- Partner with Marketing and Product Management to align customer needs, market trends, and product positioning
- Guide market segmentation, account prioritization, and channel strategy
Sales Operations & Execution Discipline
- Establish consistent sales processes, tools, and performance metrics across the region
- Own forecasting cadence, CRM discipline, and sales performance reporting
- Ensure pricing discipline, contract alignment, and commercial risk management in partnership with Finance and Operations
- Drive continuous improvement in sales effectiveness, win rates, and sales cycle efficiency
Team Leadership
- Lead, coach, and develop the Americas sales organization, including managers, account managers, and applications partners
- Build succession pipelines and reinforce leadership standards across the region
- Foster a performance-driven, accountable, and customer-focused culture
- Partner with HR on talent development, performance management, and retention
Requirements:
Experience
- Nuclear industry experience
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and relevant commercial experience
- 8–12+ years of experience in sales, commercial leadership, product management, or business development roles focused on the Americas region
- Demonstrated success leading regional sales teams in a matrixed organization
- Strong experience with forecasting, pipeline management, pricing discipline, and margin management
- Proven ability to collaborate cross-functionally (Marketing, Product Management, Operations, Applications, Finance)
- Experience in global organizations and collaboration with international teams preferred
Technical & Professional Skills
- Proficiency with CRM platforms (Salesforce or equivalent) and sales reporting tools
- Advanced Microsoft Office skills (Excel, PowerPoint) for analysis and executive presentations
- Strong understanding of sales operations, forecasting methodologies, and KPI management
- Working knowledge of pricing strategies, contract negotiation, and commercial risk management
- Demonstrated ability and willingness to use AI tools to improve productivity, decision-making, work quality, and to reduce costs. The successful candidate must be able to identify appropriate AI use cases and critically evaluate AI-generated outputs.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence senior leaders, customers, and government stakeholders
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
Working Environment:
- Office-based leadership role with extensive interaction across North and South America
- Regular collaboration with global and cross-functional teams across multiple time zones
- Significant travel (~60%) within the Americas to support customers, distributors, and regional teams
- Fast-paced, results-driven environment with high visibility and frequent executive engagement
