Job Description: 

Main activity of the position.

The Manufacturing/Quality Engineer will support and lead the movement of products and processes from the United States to Nuevo Laredo. He/she will oversee and improve manufacturing processes. Responsibilities include identifying areas of improvement, maintaining high levels of manufacturing and product quality, designing new products and processes, as well as ensuring profitability and regulatory compliance. This position will also support the future transfer of new products to Nuevo Laredo Mexico and will require travel to manufacturing facilities in the United States. As Quality engineer is also responsible for the creation of documentation that reports issues and errors relating to the production process with efforts placed to find a solution. This position will lead and support the following certifications ISO9001, FM, CSA, ATEX.

 

Education – (Scholar Degree)

  • Professional studies as Industrial Engineer, Mechatronics Engineer, Electronic Engineer or similar.

 

Experience - (Years of experience)

 

  • 1 year as a Manufacturing Engineer or in manufacturing industry.
  • Welding experience in ASME Section IX
  • ISO 9001:2015
  • Internal audits
  • Inspection techniques
  • Root Cause Analysis and Pareto analysis

 

 

Background - (Hard Skills, Trainings, or required certifications)

  • Bilingual (Spanish / English) (preferably).
  • Computer packages (Microsoft Office).
  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing.
  • Knowledge of production processes.

Responsibilities - (Responsible activities)

  • Responsible for coordinate and execute the product transfer from US facility to Mexico.
  • Evaluate existing processes, designs, and layouts to determine areas of waste, safety hazards, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Identify tooling and equipment needs for manufacturing processes.
  • Work directly with quality, purchasing and production to identify, understand, and correct design or process flaws.
  • Develop tools to capture and maintain metrics to monitor process control and performance.
  • Analyze data to derive improvement opportunities and initiate engineering changes.
  • Document work processes and recommend process improvements.
  • Support a variety of in-house organizations in continual improvement, problem investigations, safety, and documentation.
  • Report project status updates and measures to management.
  • Develops manufacturing processes by studying product requirements, researching testing methods, and conferring with equipment vendors.
  • Improves manufacturing efficiency by analyzing and planning workflow, space requirements, and equipment layout.
  • Assures product and process quality by designing testing methods.
  • Provides manufacturing decision-making information by calculating production, labor, and material costs.
  • Prepares product and process reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.
  • Provides manufacturing engineering information by answering questions and requests.
  • Maintains product and company reputation by complying with government regulations.
  • Keeps equipment operational by coordinating maintenance and repair services.
  • Maintains product and process database by writing computer programs and entering data.
  • Completes design and development projects by training and guiding technicians.
  • Lead internal audits and support external audits (ISO, FM, CSA).
  • Manage document control, calibration, and QMS compliance.
  • Oversee incoming/final inspections and conduct First Article Inspections.
  • Coordinate MRB, non-conformance control, and corrective actions.
  • Handle supplier qualification & performance monitoring.
  • Investigate and resolve customer complaints and CAPA.
  • Maintain traceability records including CMTRs and COCs for critical materials.
