Job Title:  Junior Cost Accountant

The position of Junior Cost Accountant will be responsible for general accounting, inventory and cost reporting, financial closing and other various accounting functions.  The position will work with the organization at all levels to gather information, produce various reports and ensure compliance with all corporate financial reporting requirements.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Performs activities covering materials and production costs, costs of sales, product development, overhead, etc.
• Compares actual costs to estimates and analyzes and reports on variances.
• Analyzes actual manufacturing costs and prepares periodic reports comparing budget costs to actual production costs; this includes product margin reporting and analytics. Assist in coordination of weekly cycle counts and annual physical inventory counts.
• Assist with quarter and year-end financial closings and cost rolls.
• Assist with and perform monthly reconciliation of inventory and related balance sheet accounts.
• Ensure compliance with generally accepted accounting principles and Sarbanes Oxley requirements.
• Other activities or requirements as requested.

EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:

•  Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
•  Bilingual (Spanish – English).
•  1-3 years of experience of cost accounting experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Change agent, high sense of urgency and emotional intelligence skills to work and interact as an effective team player.
• Strong desire to take initiative on projects, able to work independently in a fast-paced environment and manage several projects simultaneously. 
• Efficient workflow processing with attention to detail.
• Possess outstanding analytical skills, strong communication skills (both oral and written), proven problem-solving capability, good understanding of GAAP with Sarbanes Oxley and strong computer skills including MS Office products.
• Oracle experience is a plus.
