Job Description:
The Distribution Superintendent is responsible for supervising and coordinating distribution operations, including receiving and shipping activities, to ensure the efficient and timely movement of products and materials. This position works closely with warehouse, customer service, Finance, and Accounting teams to optimize processes, maintain inventory accuracy, ensure compliance with company policies, and support revenue recognition requirements.
Responsibilities:
- Supervise daily distribution operations, including receiving, shipping, inventory control, and material handling.
- Coordinate and direct Shipping Clerks and associated distribution personnel.
- Establish and maintain inventory control mechanisms to ensure inventory accuracy. Investigate process discrepancies and implement corrective and preventive actions.
- Drive continuous improvement projects and ensure timely completion.
- Administer employee attendance, overtime, scheduling, and performance management activities.
- Identify training needs and ensure development of personnel under supervision.
- Ensure on-time customer shipments, both domestic and international.
- Own the fulfillment-to-revenue documentation process and maintain accurate records supporting revenue recognition.
- Establish and maintain effective controls over fulfillment documentation and audit-ready records.
- Communicate fulfillment events and exceptions that may impact revenue recognition to Finance and Accounting.
- Support month-end close activities by providing timely and accurate fulfillment data.
- Demonstrated ability and willingness to use AI tools to improve productivity, decision-making, work quality, and to reduce costs.
- The successful candidate must be able to identify appropriate AI use cases and critically evaluate AI-generated outputs.
Education:
- Technical Degree required; Associates degree preferred.
Experience:
- Minimum 4 years of experience in shipping, warehousing, logistics, distribution, or related manufacturing operations.
- Prior supervisory experience preferred.
Skills & Qualifications:
- Bilingual Spanish/English, advanced proficiency required.
- Project management and leadership experience.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Inventory control and material handling knowledge.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
- Knowledge of domestic and international shipping requirements.
- Continuous improvement mindset with strong problem-solving skills.
