Job Summary:

Are you a tech-savvy leader with a passion for innovation and internal customer focus? We are seeking a dynamic and adaptable IT Systems Administrator to spearhead technology operations of our business unit in Norwood, MA. In this pivotal role, you will be the driving force behind our IT infrastructure, ensuring seamless day-to-day operations while strategically aligning our technology initiatives with the company’s vision. You will oversee and manage all IT functions, providing robust support to our business and integrating IT strategies with business objectives. You will lead a hands-on approach to troubleshooting, maintenance, and continuous improvement of our IT systems. This position reports to the Business Segment Controller.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Drive IT strategy as defined by the business controller, ECS leadership, and PSID’s DVP of IT
  • Manage IT budgets effectively, seeking cost-effective solutions.
  • Ensure systems are secure, updated, backed up, and functioning optimally.
  • Manage and maintain the company's IT infrastructure, including hardware, software, and networks.
  • Manage onboarding of new hires (equipment configuration, account creation, review I.T. policies).
  • Conduct training sessions to improve staff technology literacy.
  • Provide technical assistance to employees for hardware, software, and network-related issues.
  • Troubleshoot problems and implement solutions promptly.
  • Maintaining compliance with IT SOX, NIST 800 and AMETEK Corporate IT policy requirements.
  • Liaise with corporate shared service teams, IT vendors for procurement and support services.
  • Implement and enforce data security measures and backup protocols.
  • Develop and maintain documentation for IT processes and procedures.
  • Develop and maintain disaster and recovery plans.
  • Manage implementation of IT projects as needed.

 

Minimum Qualifications:

  • US Citizenship or Permanent Residency required due to government military contracts.
  • Due to the nature of UEI’s programs and products, applicants must have the legal right to work in the U.S. and additionally must be legally authorized to access export-controlled information and source code.
  • 5 years of experience managing business technology, preferably supporting a business unit that is part of a larger public company.

 

Desired Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in information technology or a related field or equivalent experience.
  • Proficiency in managing networks, hardware, and software systems.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and lead complex projects.
  • Relevant certifications such as CCNA or MCSE are a plus.
