Job Summary:

Reporting to the VP, Business Unit Manager, the Vice President, Business Manager (VPBM) of UEI has full P&L responsibility for a global business of approximately $43 million. This leader sets strategy, delivers profitable growth, strengthens operational performance, develops talent, and meets annual and long-term commitments. The role requires a hands-on, commercially focused leader who can operate effectively in AMETEK’s decentralized culture while building a scalable global business.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Own the business P&L and deliver sales, profit, cash flow, and asset-management commitments.
  • Develop and execute the strategic plan, aligned with AMETEK’s growth strategies: new product development, global and market expansion, acquisitions, and operational excellence.
  • Create and execute a profitable growth agenda across markets, customers, channels, products, applications, and geographies.
  • Set the commercial strategy, including sales, strategic marketing, pricing, product management, and product roadmaps.
  • Strengthen new product development and launch processes by prioritizing the strongest opportunities and improving speed, execution, and return on investment.
  • Maintain strong relationships with key customers, partners, and market influencers.
  • Accurately forecast results, identify risks and opportunities, and take timely action to meet operating plan commitments.
  • Drive continuous improvement in quality, delivery, productivity, cost, working capital, and customer service.
  • Optimize the manufacturing and supply chain footprint, including make-versus-buy, insourcing, outsourcing, and lower-cost sourcing opportunities as appropriate.
  • Develop and execute an acquisition strategy, support due diligence, and lead effective integration of acquired businesses.
  • Build, develop, and retain a strong leadership team with the capabilities needed to support growth.
  • Translate strategy into clear goals, reinforce accountability, and align teams across locations and functions.
  • Assess organizational structure and talent, strengthen succession pipelines, and develop future business leaders.
  • Create an inclusive, high-performance culture grounded in integrity, respect, teamwork, and personal accountability.

 

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related field.
  • Minimum of 10 years of progressive business leadership experience.
  • Full P&L leadership experience for a product line or business unit of at least $40 million.
  • Due to the nature of UEI programs and products, applicants must have the legal right to work in the U.S. and additionally must be legally authorized to access export-controlled information and source code.

 

Desired Qualifications:

  • MBA or other advanced business degree.
  • Successful track record of developing and executing profitable growth strategies.
  • Strong financial acumen, including forecasting, operating plans, performance management, and working capital.
  • Strategic marketing and sales experience, including market expansion, channel strategy, pricing, and customer leadership.
  • Experience leading product development, product management, and new product commercialization.
  • Experience leading manufacturing, operational improvement, and global or multi-site teams.
  • Experience evaluating acquisition opportunities and integrating acquired businesses.
  • Ability to analyze complex issues, evaluate tradeoffs, and make clear, timely decisions.
  • Proven ability to build cohesive teams, develop talent, lead change, and hold others accountable.
  • Strong executive communication skills and the ability to work effectively with customers, employees, and senior leaders.
  • Hands-on leadership style with the ability to move effectively between strategy and execution.
  • Demonstrated integrity, humility, sound judgment, and respect for others.
  • Ability to thrive in a decentralized environment with a high degree of ownership and accountability.
  • Demonstrated ability and willingness to use AI tools to improve productivity, decision-making, work quality, and to reduce costs. The successful candidate must be able to identify appropriate AI use cases and critically evaluate AI-generated outputs.
