Job Description: 

We are seeking a Mechanical Engineer with excellent design and analysis skills, to help design and deploy our market-leading products. You will engage in a collaborative, rapidly-changing environment to design and support groundbreaking new technologies. New challenges will arise every day that will allow you to utilize your sharp problem-solving skills.  You will work closely with experts in the field of rugged embedded electronics and be engaged in a collaborative and hands-on environment that fosters engineering excellence, creativity, and innovation.  

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Provide comprehensive mechanical solutions for rugged embedded electronics 
  • Design and analyze high performance thermal solutions for rugged environments utilizing various tools and techniques including CFD simulation software 
  • Design and analyze for structural performance in vibration and shock environments utilizing various tools and techniques including FEA simulation software 
  • Produce and maintain accurate and well-organized 3D model and fabrication drawing packages utilizing SolidWorks tools 
  • Interface with customers and vendors to ensure product/component performance to customer specifications and other appropriate standards 
  • Support vibration and thermal testing  
  • Support prototype and first article builds 

 

Education and Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Aeronautical Engineering from an accredited university or college 
  • Highly motivated with the ability to make decisions and solve problems with little supervision 
  • Experience using SolidWorks or similar 3D CAD software 
  • Solid knowledge of heat transfer and mechanics of materials fundamentals 
  • Ability to work effectively in teams 
  • Ability to achieve design and schedule targets for parallel projects  
  • Strong oral and written communication skills  
  • Demonstrated ability to learn new development practices, languages, and tools 
  • Thermal and flow analysis experience is a plus 
  • Structural analysis experience is a plus 
  • Understanding of materials and processes used in rugged electronics packaging is a plus 
  • Familiarity with dynamic and thermal testing is a plus
