Primary Responsibilities:

Guided by precedent and working within the limits of established policies:

  • Perform duties to monitor, coordinate, track and distribute domestic and international shipments and receipt of material and products, between the organization, its customers and vendors.
  • Manage inventory turns, conduct physical cycle count, inventory replenishment, obsolescent management, material kitting and report on inventory transactions to maintain control of physical inventory and related records.

 

Main Task Duties:

  • Review shipments prepared by others to determine compliance with requirements and note and communicate discrepant or missing items.
  • Determine requirements for and generate shipping documentation to ensure compliance with regulations and carrier requirements. Select shipping methods and appropriate carriers from among approved group to ensure compliance with customer requirements and meet cost control objectives. Identify and label shipments. Contact and schedule pick up of shipments by carriers and regulate pick up times to meet shipping schedules and maintain flow of materials and trucks in dock area. Issue documentation to driver for receipt stamps.
  • Monitor, track and trace import & export shipments and returned items, investigate, resolve and report on discrepancies and annotate computerized records as required. Coordinate and document import shipments generating appropriate documentation as required.
  • Review, approve and set up drop shipments as required and verify delivery of items.
  • Coordinate the receipt of imported goods and materials and prepare required documentation, ensuring compliance with applicable regulations.
  • Review freight invoices for accuracy and take action to communicate errors and request correction as required.
  • Receive, sort and store raw materials, subassemblies and supplies into inventory, assigning locations as required for new items and based on current overall system. Ensure that bin locations are adequately labeled with defined part numbers and to correspond with computerized inventory records.
  • Access inventory information to determine requirements for replenishment of consumable items and generate requisitions to initiate ordering and to maintain required inventory levels.
  • Perform cycle counts of assigned items in designated order and record actual inventory count.
  • Maintain computerized inventory records, depleting inventory and recording usage of specific items and their application to specific units or operations as required.
  • Communicate inventory related activity. Track inventory through all phases of work in process and maintain security of physical inventory.

  • 3-5 years relevant working experience in a Logistics/Supply Chain environment;
  • Familiar with warehouse processes, shipping documentation and inventory control;
  • Experience in working in a computerized data entry as well as order processing work environment.
