The Inside Sales Representative is an excellent introductory or career role for Commercial or Technically minded professionals looking to launch or continue a career in manufacturing. The position balances customer and business needs by evaluating and responding to customer requests in coordination with factory operations and the field sales team. You will specialize in understanding the technical aspects of our products and explain them to current and potential customers.
Success is realized by securing orders and providing excellent service to established Aerospace and Defense customers of the Electronic Interconnects and Packaging (EIP) Business Unit of AMETEK. The position will assess costs and make price and scheduling decisions utilizing a fully integrated ERP system. This role will be primarily focused on nurturing current customer relationships and following up on inbound prospects and leads. The successful applicant should be a self-motivated, confident individual who is excited to be an integral part of a growing organization and would like to develop the skills to pursue career options in Engineering, Outside Sales or Management.
Major Duties:
- Process customer requests for quotes using costs and gross margin targets.
- Provide product support to customers with assistance from Sales Engineering.
- Manage quote follow-up, customer account review, and business development opportunities with the Field Sales team.
- Understand the customer’s and prospect’s problems and challenges and develop solutions to meet their needs.
- Negotiate price, terms, and conditions within a delegated level of authority.
- Process and manage purchase orders.
- Manage RMA requests in accordance with defined processes.
- Ensure timely communication with customers via email or phone or indirectly via field sales, manufacturer’s representatives, or internal quality/engineering departments.
- Monitor to ensure compliance within defined import/export regulations.
- Assist with technical questions and technical demonstrations internally and externally.
- Maintain records in compliance with company policies.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree (technical degrees preferred)
- Ability to communicate professionally (written and verbal)
- Highly developed personal organization and time management skills
- Ability to balance shifting priorities.
- Understanding of technical specifications or technical products.
- Willingness to contribute to group meetings.
- Intermediate to advanced computer skills (MS Office applications)
- Experience using ERP and CRM systems (preferred)
- For purposes of ITAR regulations, candidates must be US citizen or permanent resident of the US.
- Commercial experience in Aerospace or Defense market (preferred)
