Job Description: 

Position Summary:

Identifies and implements quality improvement and cost reduction projects on Mechanical and Electromechanical products and systems; directs and coordinates activities involved in fabrication, operation, application, and service of mechanical or electromechanical products and systems. This role is primarily tasked with optimizing current production level products for manufacturing feasibility, quality improvements and cost reductions.

 

Key Reponsonsiblities: 

Production setup and assembly process:

  • Work instructions and assembly documentation – all products (translation of existing materials, additional details and pictures / drawings, including sign-off by production for completeness)
  • Ensure knowledge transfer of production processes, clarification and resolution of open items (design engineering support will be required, and engineering retains high level test procedures and diagnostic support)
  • Support BOM configurations – controlled by engineering as master of the BOM content, however the production setup and coordination can be supported by this role
  • Workstation setup and warehouse planning for all parts
  • Identify and procure production tools, equipment, and other items
  • Production qualification – prove out of capabilities and sign-off for full rate serial production

New Product Introduction:

  • Active participation in design and technical reviews and product meetings
  • Ensure instrument Design for Assembly and component Design for Manufacturing reviews are conducted and concepts implemented as necessary
  • Coordination of Process FMEAs
  • Scheduling and execution of prototype builds 
  • Identify and coordinate design changes as needed for production readiness
  • Production sign-off of product design “ready for production”
  • Workstation setup and warehouse planning for all parts
  • Identify and procure production tools, equipment, and other items
  • Estimation and calculation of production costs

Quality:

  • Recording and tracking quality metrics
  • Addressing all production and supplier quality issues including root cause analysis and corrective actions
  • Coordination with Engineering and Purchasing of PPAP qualifications for new as well as transferred products
  • Provide ISO audit support including updating ISO procedures as necessary
  • Quality system support (ISO9001, ISO 17025)
  • Lead Kaizen improvement project

General:

  • Actively support LEAN culture, production setup, and efficient processes
  •  Champion change to modernize operations and eliminate paper processes
  •  Conduit between engineering, production, and quality teams

 

Requirements for Consideration:

  • Education/Certifications: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, or a related field.
  • Minimum Years of Work Experience: 5-7 years experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Certification in Quality Engineering (CQE) or related certifications is preferred.
  • Experience with Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies.
  • Familiarity with statistical process control (SPC) and other quality improvement tools.
  • Knowledge/Skills: AutoCAD experience, sheet metal experience, electrical troubleshooting,  knowledge of DIN standards preferred
  • Experience using Microsoft Office suite, especially Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Power BI, QLIK and Outlook
  • Strong knowledge of ISO standards and audit processes.
  • Proven experience in root cause analysis and corrective action implementation.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
  • Proficiency in quality management software and tools.

 

 

Compensation

Employee Type:  Salaried
Salary Minimum:  $80,000
Salary Maximum:  $125,000
