Position Summary

The Master Scheduler leads the global Sales, Inventory, and Operations Planning (SIOP) process, developing and managing the master production schedule to ensure efficient operations, timely delivery, and alignment with business objectives. Serving as the central coordinator between sales, procurement, manufacturing, and logistics, this role translates demand forecasts into actionable production plans, drives continuous improvement, resolves scheduling conflicts, and ensures resource availability across all regions. The Master Scheduler partners with cross-functional and executive teams to support strategic decision-making and operational excellence.
 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and Run SIOP Process: Own and facilitate the Sales, Inventory, and Operations Planning (SIOP) process globally, ensuring alignment between demand forecasts, inventory targets, and production capacity. Drive monthly SIOP meetings, coordinate inputs from sales, operations, finance, and supply chain, and ensure consensus on the integrated business plan.
  • Develop and Maintain Master Production Schedule: Create, update, and manage the master schedule for all products and facilities, integrating SIOP outputs, sales forecasts, inventory targets, and capacity constraints.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Coordinate with sales, procurement, engineering, manufacturing, and logistics to ensure accurate forecasting, timely delivery, and optimal resource utilization.
  • Inventory and Material Planning: Analyze inventory levels, material requirements, and production load factors to maintain sufficient stock and minimize shortages or excess.
  • Schedule Optimization: Identify bottlenecks, resource constraints, and risks; implement mitigation plans and adjust schedules to maximize efficiency and minimize costs.
  • Data Integrity and Systems Management: Maintain planning parameters in ERP/MRP systems (lead times, safety stock, order quantities) and ensure data accuracy.
  • Reporting and KPIs: Generate and present regular reports on SIOP outcomes, schedule adherence, production performance, inventory metrics, and key business indicators.
  • Continuous Improvement: Lead initiatives to improve scheduling processes, SIOP effectiveness, system utilization, and overall supply chain performance.
  • Change Management: Review engineering changes, new product introductions, and customer requirements for scheduling impacts; update plans accordingly.
  • Stakeholder Communication: Serve as the focal point for schedule status, SIOP updates, changes, and issue resolution, communicating effectively with management and stakeholders.
  • Compliance: Ensure scheduling and SIOP practices comply with industry standards, company policies, and regulatory requirements.

Requirements for Consideration

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Engineering, Operations Management, or related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in master scheduling, production planning, or supply chain management in a manufacturing environment.
  • Advanced proficiency with ERP/MRP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and MS Excel; experience with scheduling software/tools preferred.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate across functions and lead cross-regional teams.
  • Experience with LEAN manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Relevant certifications (APICS CPIM, CSCP, PMP) preferred.

Salary Minimum:  $70,000
Salary Maximum:  $110,000
