Summary Description
As a Manufacturing Engineering Intern at Rauland, you will assist in the design, development, and optimization of manufacturing processes. You will conduct time studies, support lean manufacturing initiatives, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve production issues. This role offers hands-on experience with new manufacturing technologies, technical documentation, and compliance with safety regulations. Ideal candidates are pursuing a degree in engineering, possess strong analytical skills, and have a basic understanding of lean manufacturing principles.
Key Accountabilities
- Assist in building test fixtures for current and new products. (30%)
- Conduct time studies and workflow analysis to improve efficiency and reduce waste. (10%)
- Support the implementation of lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement initiatives. (20%)
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including production, quality, and maintenance, to resolve manufacturing issues. (20%)
- Participate in the development and testing of new manufacturing equipment and technologies. (10%)
- Prepare technical reports, documentation, and presentations on project progress and findings. (10%)

Must have work reviewed by mentor or manager.
Job Qualifications
Required Qualifications
- Education: Enrolled in an accredited engineering program in pursuit of a bachelor's degree. Completed second year of program.
- Experiences: Previous experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Skill Sets: Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks) and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Language Skills: Reading and writing in English at college level.
- Technical Skills: Understanding of mechanical systems and components used in manufacturing processes.
- Competencies: Verbal & Written Communications, Engineering, Math & Statistics.
Desired Qualifications
- Education: Completed 2 or 3 years of degreed engineering program.
- Experiences: Previous experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Technical Skills: Strong analytical skills to troubleshoot and resolve manufacturing issues.
- Competencies: Lean manufacturing, statistical process control, Six Sigma problem solving.
- Years of Experience: Prior engineering intern experience.

- SMT Manufacturing Project Engineer: Mentor - Receive direct guidance on job assignments.
- Manufacturing Supervisors: Will provide feedback on the effectiveness of their engineering work.
- Production Team Members: They are the primary customer of their engineering work.
