Job Title: Distribution Manager

The Distribution Manager is responsible for overseeing the efficient receipt, storage, and distribution of goods at Rauland’s Mount Prospect and Mexico facilities. This role ensures adherence to established order management protocols and that all shipments to Rauland distributorships comply with quality and safety requirements. Furthermore, the manager coordinates logistics operations, manages warehouse functions, and collaborates with various departments to support the achievement of revenue objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversees all warehouse functions, including shipping, warehousing, cycle counting, and material handling.
- Develop and implement effective distribution strategies to optimize the supply chain and ensure timely delivery of goods.
- Collaborates with Customer Service Manager on export and domestic shipments.
- Establishes metrics to measure safety, quality, delivery, cost, and morale performance of warehouse operations. Identifies and deploys process improvements that drive enhanced shipping performance.
- Coordinate with transportation providers, suppliers, and internal departments to schedule and track shipments.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, and safety regulations.
- Identify areas for continuous improvement and implement process enhancements to minimize costs and maximize customer satisfaction.
- Manage and train warehouse staff, fostering a culture of teamwork, safety, and inclusion.
- Oversee the maintenance of equipment and facilities to ensure operational readiness and safety.
- Resolve any issues or discrepancies related to inventory, shipments, or delivery schedules.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, logistics, business administration, or a related field (preferred).
- Minimum of 5 years in distribution, logistics, or warehouse management.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and analytical abilities.
- Comfortable navigating ERP/MRP (i.e. Infor, AS400) systems and Microsoft Office applications.
- Strong quantitative and qualitative problem-solving skills.
- Experience in an ISO 13485 regulated organization.
- Knowledge of safety regulations and best practices in warehousing and logistics.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.
