The Human Resources Generalist is responsible for delivering comprehensive HR support for the Coining Montvale, NJ facility. This role partners closely with the Coining leadership team to foster a positive, compliant, and high‑performance work environment that supports sustained business growth.
As a key member of the local management team, the HR Generalist provides guidance across employee relations, performance management, payroll administration, compliance, benefits, training, and safety initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as a trusted HR partner to managers and employees across assigned SMP locations.
- Coach leaders on performance management, including goal setting, feedback, corrective action, employee development, and succession planning.
- Administer bi‑weekly payroll for multiple SMP locations in coordination with the Corporate Payroll team, ensuring accurate timekeeping, pay processing, and compliance with applicable wage and hour laws.
- Act as the primary point of contact for payroll‑related questions and resolution of discrepancies.
- Ensure consistent application and reinforcement of HR policies, procedures, and employment practices.
- Support benefits administration, including open enrollment and employee inquiries.
- Partner with managers to plan and manage organizational change, with an emphasis on clear and effective employee communication.
- Identify training needs, coordinate learning initiatives, and ensure proper documentation of completed training.
- Administer Workers’ Compensation programs, including recordkeeping, reporting, and transitional work assignments as needed.
- Lead full‑cycle recruitment efforts, including candidate screening, interviewing, reference checks, job offers, and onboarding.
- Provide employee relations guidance, conduct workplace investigations as appropriate, and perform exit interviews.
- Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
- Support health, safety, and employee engagement programs and initiatives.
- Plan and lead employee events and activities.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 3–5 years of progressive Human Resources experience.
- PHR and/or SHRM‑CP certification preferred.
- Working knowledge of HR practices related to OSHA, FMLA, COBRA, STD, AAP, EEO, ADA, Unemployment, and Workers’ Compensation.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to influence at all levels of the organization.
- Proactive, solutions‑oriented mindset with strong organizational skills.
- Manufacturing environment experience preferred.
