Job Description: 

The Division Vice President, Sales and Marketing is accountable to develop, implement, and lead all sales and marketing activities for the Specialty Metal Products' Strip & Wire Business, delivering sustained commercial growth, sales volume, profitable customer retention, and market share growth.  

  • Work with the Division Vice President, Business Manager to establish the annual sales budget which drives the commercial growth and sustained profitability of the business.  
  • Accountable to develop and implement sales and marketing strategies, tactics, and sales practices to meet and exceed the profit and growth objectives.
  • Analyze the target markets, price schedules, and related operating data to meet/exceed goals.  Monitor the profitability of product lines.  Recommend and facilitate the expansion of current products, development of new products, and elimination of unprofitable products.
  • Effectively organize the Sales and Marketing function to allocate resources to maximize profit potential.
  • Establish a healthy pipeline of new business opportunities and provide input to the new product roadmap.
  • Coach, lead, and mentor staff to achieve business objectives and support employee development.
  • Establish a cadence of regular contact with Regional Sales Managers, Independent Sales Representatives, and key customers to maintain and expand business relationships.
  • Develop and deliver sales presentations individually or with sales representatives to retain and gain business. Structure, negotiate, and close sales agreements.
  • Ensure the effective, timely communication of relevant information and market intelligence to/from sales, manufacturing, technology, and business management.
  • Prepare and present management reports that summarize sales activity, new business pipeline, actual and forecasted sales volume, product mix, key account activity, etc.
  • Monitor, evaluate the competitive environment and the activities of competing organizations in target markets, and keep business leaders informed of such.
  • Develop, implement, and manage the Sales and Marketing budget.
  • Monitor the activities of the Customer Service Department, ensuring customer service quality and effective, efficient operations.
  • Manage an effective quotation process, from RFQ through to securing the order and monitor volume, margin, win/loss, and responsiveness.
  • Maintain active involvement in industry, trade, and professional organizations.  Attend industry trade shows and conferences to develop and maintain customer relationships, expand business relationships, and conduct sales and marketing actvities.
  • Provide regular, transparent updates to all stakeholders.
  • Provide evidence backed data and strategic recommendations.


Qualifications:

  • Minimum Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, Sales and Marketing, Engineering, or similar major.  An advanced degree is desired.
  • A minimum of 10 years demonstrated sales and marketing management experience in a manufacturing environment with a succession of positions with increased responsibility.
  • Polished sales and marketing skills and presentation skills.
  • Technical sales or sales engineer experience in the metals and/or electronic packaging industry highly preferred.
  • Domestic and international sales experience required.
  • Demonstrated skills with PC applications such as Microsoft Office, CRM systems, and ERP Systems.
  • Ability to travel up to 25-30% of the time.

Direct reports: Regional Sales Managers, Product Managers, Customer Service Director

Compensation

Employee Type:  Salaried
Salary Minimum:  $170,000
Salary Maximum:  $200,000 +
Incentive:  Yes
