Summary of Position

The Production Supervisor role directs and coordinates the work of production employees to meet customer needs and production goals.

 

Position Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required, bachelor’s degree in business, manufacturing technology, supply chain, or related field is preferred.
  • Previous experience in manufacturing environment with leadership role preferred.
  • Experience with basic computer tasks and Microsoft Office Suite required.
  • Demonstrated ability to foster teamwork and work well with others.
  • Experience with coaching or training is preferred.
  • Strong oral and written skills.
  • Bi-ligual in Spanish is preferred.

 

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Plans, establishes, and communicates work schedules, assignments, and production sequences to meet customer needs and production goals.
  • Interviews and recommends hiring of production employees.
  • Assigns various jobs to meet schedule demands.
  • Trains employees on job breakdown using appropriate job instruction methods to ensure a quality product in a safe operation.
  • Monitors employee conduct and enforces company policies to maintain productive and safe operations.
  • Recommends personnel actions to production leadership to maintain high morale and consistency of treatment.
  • Confers with Quality and Engineering teams to resolve machine malfunctions and production errors and obtains approval to continue production.
  • Coordinate operations and activities within or between departments.
  • Monitors throughput, yield, and accidents to eliminate waste.
  • Uses software tools to monitor costs and efficiency.
  • Plans and executes effective corrective and preventative actions identifying root cause of actual/potential nonconformities through the Non-Conformance Report (NCR) process in order to promote continuous improvement.
  • Other duties and tasks as assigned.
