We are currently seeking an Engineering Intern for our Milford, NH facility. This rewarding internship will have a focus on Quality, and will involve performing a wide range of duties to analyze, develop, and specify manufacturing processes including operational sequence, tooling, methods, equipment, and controls to efficiently meet quality and quantity requirements of a variety of manufactured products. You will gain real world experience and knowledge related to various metal and plastic machining processes, as well as gain real world knowledge and experience with plastic injection molding and the use of common measuring tools and measurement techniques. The knowledge and experience gained will directly translate to almost any manufacturing operation you would enter as your career advances.
What will you do?
- Execute and complete improvement ideas originating from operations employees.
- Perform and observe manufacturing operations for analysis.
- Write standardized work to help develop our lean management system.
- Address improvement needs from weekly 5S audits.
- Create charts, templates, Value Stream Maps for standard and clear communication of information.
- Update Process Sheets and Routings.
- Identify opportunities to eliminate waste.
- Support in administrative tasks such as data entry and collection.
- Train and direct teams on the implementation of Lean disciplines.
- Present to peers, leaders, and upper management as needed.
What are we looking for:
- Must be currently pursuing a degree in Mechanical, Industrial, Electrical, or Quality Engineering
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Office products, especially Access and Excel
- Familiarity with Quality Management systems and ISO standards preferred.
- Demonstrated technical writing experience (procedures, work instructions) preferred.
- Ability to train small groups in vaious QA techniques.
