As a Sr Software Engineer, you will advance metrology and high-precision optical fabrication technologies through cutting-edge software development and algorithm innovation.

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

  • Algorithm Development: Design and implement advanced signal processing algorithms tailored for imaging and interferometry. Focus areas include filtering, surface texture analysis, Fourier transforms, and phase analysis. Ensure algorithms are both computationally efficient and scalable for real-world applications.

  • Scientific Software Engineering: Develop and enhance software solutions central to precision optical metrology, integrating mathematical rigor with robust software architecture.

  • Data Visualization & Hardware Integration: Contribute to software frameworks for real-time data visualization, instrument control, and hardware-software interfacing, supporting seamless operation of Zygo’s high-tech instrumentation.

  • Applied Physics & Optics: Translate principles of optics and surface metrology into practical software applications, driving innovation in optical measurement and analysis techniques.

  • Continuous Innovation: Operate and analyze advanced instrumentation to identify opportunities for refinement and drive continuous improvement in metrology processes and technologies.

 

Required Skills:

 

  • Educational Background: B.S. or M.S. in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a closely related field. Advanced coursework or research in signal processing, physics, or mathematics is a plus.

  • Professional Experience: 5+ years in software development, with a proven ability to design modular, high-performance applications adhering to best practices.

  • Technical Expertise:

    • Deep understanding of data structures, algorithms, and object-oriented programming (OOP).

    • Proficiency in scientific computing and mathematical modeling, particularly in signal processing, Fourier analysis, and numerical methods.

  • Interdisciplinary Knowledge: Familiarity with optical metrology, physical sciences, and advanced mathematical principles. Knowledge of imaging systems, interferometry, or laser optics is highly desirable.

  • Programming Proficiency: Hands-on experience with programming languages and tools, including C/C++, C#, .NET, Python, WPF, and Git.

  • Analytical & Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to tackle complex technical challenges, combining theoretical understanding with practical implementation to achieve innovative solutions.
