As a Senior Electrical Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in designing and developing advanced electrical subsystems and components for metrology applications, leveraging innovative circuit design, motion control techniques, and seamless hardware integration.
Key Responsibilities
- Circuit Design & Layout: Design and implement metrology subsystem PCBs, including schematic capture and mixed-signal circuit design.
- Microprocessor & FPGA Development: Code for microprocessors and develop FPGA logic using VHDL/Verilog, ensuring robust simulation and testing.
- Motion Control Design: Develop and tune stepper and servo motion control systems, integrating advanced control techniques.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Provide support to service, manufacturing, and engineering teams to ensure seamless product integration and operation.
- Project Leadership: Manage projects and contribute to product documentation, training, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Technological Innovation: Identify and implement opportunities for efficiency and technological advancements in metrology systems.
Required Skills
- Proficiency in schematic capture and PCB layout for high-precision systems.
- FPGA coding expertise in VHDL/Verilog, including simulation and testing capabilities.
- Experience with mixed-signal circuit design and embedded Linux (ARM) applications.
- Strong programming skills in C, C++, C#, and Python for metrology analysis and control.
- Knowledge of RTOS and multi-microprocessor circuit design for advanced instrumentation.
- Familiarity with optical metrology systems, motion control techniques, and hardware-software integration.
- Strong written and verbal communication abilities to collaborate effectively across diverse teams and organizational levels.
Qualifications
- B.S. or M.S. in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
- 5+ years of relevant industry experience in electrical engineering roles.
- Experience with project and/or program management is a plus.
- Ability to travel occasionally to meet program needs and support new business opportunities.
