As a U.S. Trade Compliance Intern, you will spend 11 weeks developing essential compliance skills while contributing to meaningful projects in the field of international trade.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the U.S. Trade Compliance team to execute a focused project ensuring adherence to export and import control laws and regulations.
- Conduct research on export and import regulations, including ITAR, EAR, and U.S. Customs requirements, to provide compliance insights.
- Assist with the preparation and submission of export/import license applications and maintain accurate compliance records.
- Review and analyze contracts for trade compliance issues and support internal audits and compliance reviews.
- Partner with cross-functional teams to ensure regulatory compliance and participate in training sessions on trade regulations.
- Help classify goods under the Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTS) and Schedule B.
Skills and Qualifications
- Currently pursuing a degree in International Business, International Affairs, Trade Compliance, or a related field.
- Familiarity with trade regulations, export/import documentation, and classification systems is a strong advantage.
- Strong research and analytical abilities to interpret and apply regulatory requirements.
- Clear written and verbal communication to convey findings and recommendations effectively.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize work, and maintain attention to detail in a fast-paced environment.
- A proactive and collaborative approach to problem-solving and team initiatives.
