As an IQC Inspector, you will be responsible for determining acceptability of products through various inspection techniques as it pertains to ZYGO and external customer drawings and specifications.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

The inspector should be well versed in the use of standard inspection gaging (micrometers, Vernier calipers, shadowgraphs, pin and plug gages) as well as electronic inspection devices such as HYPOT, multimeters and voltmeters, and optical surface quality inspection using eye loupes, comparators and microscopes. In addition, this position should be able to perform in-process and final inspection within the facility and be able to understand the demands of the business and prioritize inspection requirements.

 

REQUIRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum of 5-7 years’ experience as an inspector, basic math skills
  • High School /Trade School Diploma
  • Ability to read and understand blueprints, customer specs (including sales orders and statements of work), geometric dimensioning and tolerancing, special process instructions, MIL standards, ISO standards, sampling plans, First Article Inspection (FAI) documentation
  • Ability to use basic gaging (Micrometers, Pin/Plug Gages, Vernier Calipers, Multimeters, Voltmeters)
  • Computer savvy, Microsoft Office tools, accessing information (FAST’s, Waivers)
  • Effective and proactive communication
  • Familiar with 6S and Lean principles
  • The ability to run and program a CMM is preferred
  • Prior experience handling precision glass products, detailed visual inspection to MIL and ISO specs, ability to inspect for scratches and digs in glass, working with optics/optical assemblies, and using basic optical inspection equipment such as auto collimators and interferometers is preferred
  • Knowledge of GD&T, basic inspection skills

 We offer competitive compensation, benefits, retirement (401k) and paid time off programs. Compensation and position level will be set based on experience.

Compensation

Salary Minimum:  $50,000
Salary Maximum:  $70,000
