Job Title:  Optician - Coating

 As a 2nd shift Optician-Coating, you will be responsible for thin film coating of precision optics using vacuum-based technologies.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Clean optical components and monitor vacuum chamber for the deposition of optical coatings on optical surfaces.
• Test coatings with spectrophotometers, laser-photometers and interpret test data. Clean and maintain vacuum chamber periodically. Record and file test data
• Follow prescribed work instructions, quality and safety rules.
• Work with precision tools and fixtures.
• Maintain work area and equipment in clean and orderly condition.
• Perform other similar and related duties as assigned.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

• HS Diploma or GED
• At least 2 years’ experience with complex optical coatings while working with e-beam coating chamber. Candidates without experience may be hired as apprentices.
• Applicants must be able to read drawings, parts lists, schematics, work with written and verbal procedures, and instructions.
• Candidates must have the ability to handle delicate optical components, working knowledge of mechanics, electronics, and vacuum systems, and other related test equipment.
• Ability to inspect optical surfaces per MIL or ISO specifications.
• Basic hand tools and computer skills
• Strong attention to details.
• During the training period, applicants must be flexible to work in the 1st shift.
