As a Metrology and Design Intern, you will embark on an exciting 11-week summer, working on impactful projects that allow you to develop essential engineering skills and contribute to meaningful advancements in our products and processes.
Key Responsibilities
- CAD and MATLAB: Utilize CAD (SolidWorks preferred) and MATLAB for various engineering tasks.
- Microsoft Office Programs: Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Hands-On Lab Work: Conduct experiments and make measurements in a lab setting.
- Optics Knowledge: Apply basic knowledge of optics to support engineering activities.
Preferred Majors or Coursework
- Mechanical Engineering with a preference for precision engineering
- Physics. Note that the projects will be engineering projects and not pure physics projects.
Skills and Qualifications
- Mechanical Design Knowledge: Familiarity with CAD (SolidWorks preferred) and mechanical engineering design principles.
- Computer Skills: Proficiency in MATLAB and Microsoft Office programs.
- Hands-On Skills: Ability to conduct experiments and make measurements in a lab setting.
- Problem-Solving Mindset: A proactive approach to identifying and resolving technical challenges.
- Team Collaboration: Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
