As a Metrology and Design Intern, you will embark on an exciting 11-week summer, working on impactful projects that allow you to develop essential engineering skills and contribute to meaningful advancements in our products and processes.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • CAD and MATLAB: Utilize CAD (SolidWorks preferred) and MATLAB for various engineering tasks.
  • Microsoft Office Programs: Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Hands-On Lab Work: Conduct experiments and make measurements in a lab setting.
  • Optics Knowledge: Apply basic knowledge of optics to support engineering activities.

 

Preferred Majors or Coursework

  • Mechanical Engineering with a preference for precision engineering
  • Physics. Note that the projects will be engineering projects and not pure physics projects.

 

Skills and Qualifications

  • Mechanical Design Knowledge: Familiarity with CAD (SolidWorks preferred) and mechanical engineering design principles.
  • Computer Skills: Proficiency in MATLAB and Microsoft Office programs.
  • Hands-On Skills: Ability to conduct experiments and make measurements in a lab setting.
  • Problem-Solving Mindset: A proactive approach to identifying and resolving technical challenges.
  • Team Collaboration: Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
