As a Metrology Engineering Technician in our CMS (Custom Metrology Solutions) Department, you will support the assembly, testing, and troubleshooting of custom complex electro- and opto-mechanical systems. This role emphasizes precision, quality, and efficiency in assembly and test activities, with a focus on problem solving, internal process development, and technical documentation.
Key Responsibilities
- Assemble, align, and calibrate intricate electro- and opto-mechanical systems using precision tools and fixtures.
- Perform system integration and qualification using advanced computing and metrology tools.
- Troubleshoot and validate systems to meet internal and client specifications.
- Interpret detailed drawings, schematics, and verbal instructions to ensure accurate builds.
- Operate and interpret results from optical and mechanical test equipment.
- Document assembly and test procedures.
- Identify and resolve documentation gaps and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
- Collaborate with engineering and quality teams to implement process enhancements and corrective actions.
Requirements and Qualifications
- Associate or bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline with 3 to 5 years of relevant experience.
- Experience with documentation tools and process improvement methodologies.
- Programming experience (e.g., VBA, Python, or C#) is a plus.
- Familiarity with optical cleaning/handling standards is a plus.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physical tasks including standing, stooping, and keyboarding.
