As a Global Commodity Manager for Zygo Navitar, you will be responsible for working cross-functionally with engineering, operations, and quality to align sourcing strategies with product development and support new product development with early supplier involvement and sourcing decisions.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Commodity Strategy Development
- Define and implement global sourcing strategies for assigned commodities to achieve cost, quality, and delivery objectives.
- Monitor market trends, cost drivers, and risk factors impacting commodity categories.
Supplier Management
- Identify, qualify, and develop strategic suppliers globally; negotiate contracts, pricing agreements, and long-term supply arrangements.
- Drive supplier performance improvements in quality, delivery, and cost.
Risk Management
- Develop contingency plans for supply disruptions and ensure compliance with corporate and regulatory requirements.
- Manage global supply chain risks related to geopolitical, economic, and environmental factors.
Indirect Spend Oversight
- Manage sourcing for indirect categories such as VMI, services and capital equipment.
REQUIRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree in supply chain or related field.
- 6+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment with demonstrated ability to understand technical specs, complex products, commodity market knowledge (price, trends, volatility) and global dynamics.
- Data driven and analytical – data analysis, cost benchmarking, forecasting, market indices.
- Collaborative, with ability to lead across functional teams and manage supplier relationships (performance monitoring, risk assessments, multi-tier partnerships).
- Initiative-taking communicator who has a bias for action and able to manage multiple stakeholders and challenge up sometime with competing demands.
- High standards for ethical sourcing, sustainability, and adherence to international standards,
- Solution-oriented problem-solver.
- Manages risk with attention to geopolitical climate, currency, logistics, business continuity, and supply chain resilience.
- Ability to work with and in ERP systems (Microsoft Navision a plus).
- Able to travel domestically and internationally as needed.
