Job Title: Division Vice-President of IT

The Division Vice President of Information Technology will oversee the strategic and tactical direction of all IT systems, technologies and processes for the global business operations within the Ultra Precision Technologies (UPT) Division of AMETEK. This individual will partner with business leaders to anticipate and recommend opportunities where information technology can advance business capabilities and provide a competitive advantage. The IT Leader will influence, and hold accountable, IT staff and business unit leaders to comply with Corporate directed initiatives. Success is measured by results, integrity, relationship development and change management.
In addition to serving as the IT leader for the Division, the DVP, IT will also provide enterprise IT support at the AMETEK corporate level, working closely with the corporate team on initiatives affecting IT across all divisions. This includes providing participation in future acquisition due diligence, post-acquisition integration, Sarbanes Oxley audit support and Cyber security when appropriate. The DVP IT will report to the DVP of Finance.
Responsibilities:
- Partner with the business unit and division leadership teams to develop and execute strategy including identifying the appropriate use of IT to improve the capabilities and performance.
- Identify, develop and apply impactful IT/process/automation solutions to enhance business processes.
- Regularly consult with corporate teams to both understand top-line challenges/opportunities as well as articulate Division/BU needs.
- Manage all aspects of business systems and information technology in the Division.
- Ensure a stable and efficient business system and communications environment.
- Develop and maintain a high performing Business Systems and Information Technology Team.
- Engage with centrally led corporate teams and contribute to the development of corporate standards and Policies related to IT and Business Systems. Ensure policy compliance (cyber security, governance/controls) and shared services utilization with the business units.
- Provide thought leadership around the application of Sarbanes Oxley and Cyber Security compliance standards.
- Align IT resources to automate manual processes through digital transformation; provide access to data to track measurable results.
- Lead the technical aspects of digital projects, including ERP implementations, meeting deadlines and budgets.
- Ensure the business or division is adhering to all corporate information security standards and policies.
- Provide business analytics in support of the business growth strategies.
- Spearhead the IT due diligence activities for acquisitions. Make significant contributions to work in the area of investigation of potential acquisitions and lead post-acquisition integration execution and delivery.
Position Requirements:
- 10+ years of proven, progressive IT leadership, including global experience in an engineering-centric, product development, and delivery organization. This includes a successful IT business leader who understands and leads technology’s application for driving real business value. This experience should also include a proven track record of exceptional IT build, deliver, and support experience.
- Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Technology, or related field; MA/MBA preferred.
- Previous IT leadership experience in a complex manufacturing environment (made to order) and supply chain business skills.
- Demonstrated project management of full life cycle ERP and CRM implementations.
- Previous oversight of a multi-site and globally dispersed organization.
- Proven hands-on management style in a lean environment.
- Demonstrated ability to drive change and hold others accountable.
Desired Qualifications:
- Strong business and financial acumen. Experience working for a publicly-traded company focused on lowering costs while improving performance.
- Understanding of, and skilled in developing executable strategic plans.
- Demonstrated skill and success in managing an organization including budgeting, hiring, developing, and positioning resources in support of the function.
- Experience evaluating, conducting due diligence on, and integrating acquisitions is highly desirable. Experience in a Six Sigma / LEAN Manufacturing environment where these tools were applied to the “office” environment is preferred.
- Ability to predict, recognize and manage cultural and technological changes within the organization and the corresponding transitions required. It is essential the applicant understand technology direction and trends and their strategic business impact.
- Able to develop collaborative, productive working relationships, at all levels within the business and across AMETEK.
