Financial Reporting: Prepare monthly and year-end financial statements, along with all regular corporate reporting requirements, supporting accounting, tax, and treasury functions.
Forecasting: Prepare monthly forecasts and communicate results to corporate, Brookfield, and BU Management teams.
Performance Analysis: Analyze current and past trends in key performance indicators, including revenue, cost of sales, expenses, and working capital.
Quarterly Reporting: Assist in the preparation of the quarterly reporting package (MD&A) and SOX testing processes.
Strategic Support: Develop financial models and analyses to support strategic initiatives.
Cost Analysis: Proactively analyze manufacturing costs (materials, operations, yield, and fixed costs) and advocate for changes.
Budgeting: Prepare the annual budget and communicate the plan to management.
Internal Controls: Maintain internal control systems, ensuring Sarbanes-Oxley compliance and adherence to corporate policies and procedures.
Team Leadership: Drive performance, continuous improvement, and coach team members on people skills, company policy, and decision-making.
Operational Monitoring: Monitor operating performance and implement actions to achieve budgeted/forecasted goals.
Financial Guidance: Review spending requests for capital expenditures, R&D projects, and other major expenses, providing financial guidance on business investments.
External Interface: Interface with outside advisors and auditors on attestation and compliance matters.
Position Requirements:
Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA or MBA is a plus.
Experience: Minimum of 5+ years in financial reporting, budgeting, and accounting, preferably in a manufacturing environment, and 3+ years in leadership/management roles.
Communication: Excellent communication skills across all organizational levels, with the ability to present clear and concise messages to Executive and Senior Divisional Leadership Teams.
Independence: Ability to meet strict deadlines and work independently.
Analytical Skills: Strong analytical skills with a robust understanding of accounting and finance, including Balance Sheet, P&L, cash flow, and typical KPIs.
Work Ethic: Self-starter with strong work ethic and integrity, capable of working under pressure to meet tight deadlines. Excellent strategic, critical thinking, and analytical skills.
Change Management: Demonstrated change agent, comfortable with continuous improvement and stretch concepts.
Technical Skills: Advanced Excel skills (modeling, pivot tables, formulas, charting) and PowerPoint skills for compiling presentations for budgets, RORs, and strategy plans.
Adaptability: Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
Communication: Must be able to translate financial understanding into actionable improvements and clearly communicate to multiple organizational levels.
Leadership: Proven managerial and leadership skills in finance or accounting, with the ability to drive results and continuous improvement while being a hands-on player/coach.
