POSITION SUMMARY:
We are seeking a high-potential, career-motivated finance leader to join our team as the Brookfield Assistant Controller. This role is ideal for a strategic thinker with strong technical expertise and a passion for driving business performance. You will be a key partner to senior leadership, with a clear development path for future finance management positions within AMETEK.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Lead the preparation of monthly and year-end financial statements and corporate reporting packages.
- Support accounting, tax, and treasury functions with a focus on accuracy, compliance, and timeliness.
- Ensure SOX compliance and maintain robust internal controls aligned with corporate policies.
- Prepare and present monthly forecasts to Brookfield, business unit, and division leadership.
- Analyze trends in revenue, cost of sales, expenses, and working capital to drive operational performance and advise on strategic decisions.
- Develop financial models to support business planning, investment decisions, and strategic initiatives.
- Analyze manufacturing costs (materials, operations, yield, fixed costs) and recommend improvements.
- Monitor operational performance and drive actions to meet or exceed budgeted goals.
- Review and provide financial guidance on capital expenditures, R&D projects, and major investments.
- Lead the annual budgeting process and communicate financial plans to management.
- Assist in the preparation of quarterly MD&A reports and support external audit processes.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
- Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance is required. CPA designation or MBA is strongly preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in financial reporting, budgeting, and accounting, ideally within a manufacturing or industrial environment. At least 3 years in a leadership or management role, with demonstrated success in leading teams, managing complex financial operations, and driving business results.
- Technical Skills: Advanced Excel proficiency including financial modeling, pivot tables, charting, and complex formulas. Strong working knowledge of GAAP and financial compliance standards. Hands-on experience with ERP systems (SAP preferred), including general ledger management, journal entries, and month-end close processes. Familiarity with financial reporting and consolidation tools such as Hyperion, or similar platforms. Deep understanding of financial statements, including Balance Sheet, P&L, and Cash Flow, as well as key performance indicators (KPIs).
- Communication: Skilled in translating complex financial data into actionable insights. Confident presenter and collaborator with executive and cross-functional teams.
- Leadership: Experienced in building and mentoring high-performing teams. Strong interpersonal skills to influence, drive accountability, and promote continuous improvement.
