Job Title: Engineering Technician

We are searching for Engineering Technician(s) to assist engineers and surrounding departments in product development, assembly, and testing as well as the development of new processes and maintenance/improvement of current processes to manufacture medical devices and/or surgical instrumentation products. You will work in our Mansfield, MA location.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Required:
- High school diploma or equivalent and at least 1-3 years’ experience in a technical field
- must have transportation to work on-site in Mansfield, MA.
Desired:
- Post secondary trade or vocational training.
- Associate’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or another Technical field
- Experience in medical device, automotive, machining, or other manufacturing fields
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
You will provide support in the development of newly designed products, existing product modifications/improvements, and during transfer to the production floor. Under direct supervision and guidance, you may also compile, analyze, and report test data and other information to establish and verify performance standards for new and existing processes.
- Develop and implement equipment maintenance procedures. Regularly perform equipment maintenance following procedures and documenting activiites.
- Maintain equipment records, spare parts and production floor consumable inventory.
- Provide production floor support to assigned lines.
- Assist engineers with performing required testing and writing the associated reports
- Assist in developing prototypes and fixtures, as required. Assist in assembly, testing, and verification of new products and processes, assembling prototypes.
- Design, procure, refine, fabricate and/or implement simple tooling and fixtures. Research, compile, and present equipment and/or tooling specifications for applicable processes.
- As a part of the project team, assist engineers with preparing and releasing product and process documentation to include but not limited to component or assembly drawings/specifications, inspection procedures, manufacturing routers, assembly methods/manufacturing instructions, setup instructions, setup forms, and test methods.
- Gather and compile data and process flow characteristics and, if applicable, assist engineers with analyzing the data and presenting opportunities for improvement with respect to design, ease of processing, or ergonomic impacts of new manufacturing processes or layouts.
- Perform and document incoming inspections of prototype components.
- Train technicians/operators on new procedures, such as but not limited to, new processes and/or test procedures.
- Lay out, build, test, troubleshoot, repair, and modify developmental and production electronic equipment, and prototype systems, including control instrumentation.

- Must demonstrate strong technical/mechanical aptitude
- Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Powerpoint)
- Must demonstrate competency in the use of basic measurement tools (calipers, micrometer, scale) with desire & aptitude to learn new tools such as Optical Vision Measurement Systems
- Must demonstrate competency in the use of machine and hand tools in fabrication of tooling, fixturing, equipment repair, and modifications.
- Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.
