Reporting to the Customer Support Service Manager,  the Field Service Engineer's main responsibilities include customer service activities associated with modifying, troubleshooting, diagnosing, and repairing our equipment.  This Field Service Engineer will represent CAMECA/AMETEK to the customer and assumes accountability for customer satisfaction with regard to service. Additional key responsibilities are outlined below:

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

  • Provide ongoing support for the instrument such as preventive maintenance visits, technical support and rapid response to problems in the field.
  • Provide customers with technical support remotely.
  • Performs installation of CAMECA systems
  • Training of instrument users
  • Performs Site Inspections prior to installation of instruments.
  • Promote our products and service offer to customers.
  • Develop and maintain positive relations between the customer and the organization.
  • Use and update the administrative management tools made available to you.
  • Respect the safety rules at customer sites.
  • Adhere to quality and EHS procedures
  • Other duties as assigned

 

** Business trips represent roughly 80% of activity **

 

Education & Experience:

 

  • Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering, Physics or Chemistry is required (Military electronics traininbg/experience may be considered, in place of a degree).

  • Familiar with the following: Electronics, computers, mechanics, reading engineering drawings, vacuum technology, etc. 

  • Minimum of 4 years' experience working with complex electro mechancial & high vacuum systems (SEM, TEM, semiconductor fab tools, etc.)

  • Must be fluent in English
