Job Description: 

Reporting to the Director of Global Service & Quality, the Global Compliance Expert is responsible for defining, implementing, and maintaining global product regulatory compliance, certification, and trade/export compliance activities for all products, ensuring conformity with applicable international regulations throughout the full product lifecycle.

Responsibilities:

The Global Compliance Expert will:

  • Product Regulatory Compliance & Certification
    • Lead global product certification and regulatory compliance activities for high‑technology analytical instruments and related accessories.
    • Act as the regulatory compliance expert throughout all phases of product development, in close collaboration with R&D, Manufacturing, Service, and Sales.
    • Define certification strategies and manage relationships with external testing laboratories, notified bodies, and certification agencies.
    • Review and approve engineering and manufacturing change orders within defined regulatory perimeter.
    • Ensure timely completion of testing, evaluations, and compliance documentation to support product launches and customer deliveries.
    • Monitor and assess regulatory and certification evolutions impacting existing and future products.
    • Provide regulatory guidance and support to Sales, Service, and Customer Experience teams, including participation in Level 3 escalations when required
  • Export Control & Trade Compliance
    • Define, manage, and continuously improve the global export control and trade compliance program for the Business Unit.
    • Classify products, spare parts, and components (HS codes, export control classifications).
    • Review sales quotes, service contracts, and customer export lists for compliance with export regulations.
    • Prepare, submit, and maintain required export control filings and documentation with regulatory authorities (e.g. BIS).
    • Draft, implement, and maintain export control procedures, SOPs, declarations, and records.
    • Monitor changes in international import/export regulations and assess impact on operations and installed base.
    • Report import/export compliance KPIs to BU management and Division/Corporate stakeholders.
  • Quality System, Documentation & Training
    • Lead global product certification and regulatory compliance activities for high‑technology analytical instruments and related accessories.Act as the regulatory compliance expert throughout all phases of product development, in close collaboration with R&D, Manufacturing, Service, and Sales.
    • Develop, own, and maintain regulatory and compliance processes and SOPs as part of the Quality Management System.
    • Generate, collect, control, and maintain regulatory and compliance documentation in SharePoint and controlled repositories.
    • Support and/or conduct compliance audits of suppliers within defined scope.
    • Prepare and deliver internal training, presentations, and guidance related to regulatory, certification, and trade compliance topics.

Requirements:

  • Education & experience:
    • Master’s degree in Engineering, Science, Regulatory Affairs, or related technical discipline.
    • Minimum 5 years of experience in product regulatory compliance and certification for complex, high technology equipment.
    • Experience with international regulatory frameworks and certification processes.
    • Knowledge of the semiconductor or advanced analytical instrumentation industry is a strong plus.
    • Prior experience or strong interest in export control and trade compliance.
  • Professionnal knowledge & abilities:
    • english proficiency: C1 level;
    • Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
    • Strong understanding of global regulatory, certification, and trade compliance requirements.
    • Availability and willingness to travel internationally.
    • Ability to operate autonomously and provide clear recommendations to stakeholders.
