Job Title: FEA Engineer

Dive into the world of numerical simulation and put your expertise in structural analysis to work on exciting and diverse projects. In this role, you will model and solve complex problems using cutting-edge software such as Ansys, Femap, Nastran, and LS-Dyna. You’ll work on a variety of projects, including those in the defense sector, collaborating with a specialized team and external clients. Your daily tasks will include performing numerical modeling, preparing 3D geometries, writing technical reports, and simplifying results to advise our clients. Your projects will lead you to:
- Act as a consulting engineer in numerical simulation for external clients;
- Perform numerical modeling (meshing, FEA analyses) using tools such as Ansys, Femap, Nastran, LS-Dyna;
- Prepare 3D geometries for numerical analysis using 3D modeling software such as NX, CatiaV5, SolidWorks, Spaceclaim;
- Perform manual calculations: aerodynamic loads, boundary conditions, material strength, heat transfer, component sizing and resistance, etc.;
- Write scripts for analytical calculations and automated pre-processing or post-processing operations for simulations;
- Draft and certify analysis reports, calculation notes, and manufacturing plans;
- Simplify results and advise clients on potential modifications;
- Participate in the development of various products by optimizing structural and thermal functions;
- Work closely with finite element and fluid dynamics engineers to validate calculation assumptions and recommendations made to clients;
- Collaborate with technicians, designers, and engineers on product development projects.
You’re the ideal candidate if you:
- Hold a university degree in Mechanical Engineering (graduate degree is an asset);
- Have at least 3 years of experience in finite element analysis (FEA);
- Master one of the following software: Ansys, Femap, Simcenter, or Hypermesh;
- Bring experience in explicit non-linear analysis with LS-Dyna (an asset);
- Demonstrate in-depth knowledge of structural analysis, non-linear analysis, material strength, fatigue, dynamics, and vibrations;
- Use a 3D design software (NX, CatiaV5, SolidWorks, Inventor, etc.);
- Know a programming language (Matlab, Python, Visual Basic, etc.) (an asset);
- Analyze, synthesize, and solve complex problems with rigor;
- Communicate and simplify technical concepts effectively to different audiences;
- Show creativity, innovation, and dynamism;
- Organize your work methodically and precisely;
- Collaborate as a team player and contribute to a positive environment;
- Adopt a client-focused approach and demonstrate exceptional service skills;
- Adapt quickly and manage multiple projects simultaneously;
- Are fluent in French and English, both spoken and written, as a large part of communication is in English with our subsidiaries and international clients. You will frequently participate in meetings with English-speaking partners.
