We are seeking an enthusiastic, driven, Technical Director to join our management team at Taylor Hobson. In this role, you will oversee product architectures, implement technical strategies, manage project execution smoothly through PLs & PMs in India, Germany & UK and align technology initiatives with business objectives. You will also lead our technology partners, drive innovation, and ensure the successful execution of product delivery.

The ideal candidate must have an agile, pragmatic approach to technology with strong leadership skills and deep technical expertise in at least one of the core Physical sciences/Engineering disciplines. Key Responsibilities
Objectives of the role
- Collaborating with senior management, stakeholders, and cross-functional teams to align technical goals with business objectives.
- Leading the technical strategy, product architecture, and project execution across multiple departments.
- Overseeing software development, and technical operations to ensure efficiency and scalability
- Ensuring best practices in software development, system integration, and cybersecurity.
- Driving innovation by evaluating and implementing new technologies that enhance company capabilities.
- Managing technical teams and their growth through coaching & development programs
- Responsible for Product safety, you will ensuring compliance with industry standards, regulatory requirements & data security policies as appropriate.
- Handling budgeting, resource allocation, and vendor negotiations for technical projects.
- Troubleshooting critical technical challenges and enabling strategic solutions to complex problems.
- Establishing and maintaining technical documentation, process guidelines, and quality assurance protocols for ISO compliance
Your tasks
- Define and execute the company’s technical roadmap to support product strategies for the short-, medium- and long-term vision.
- Coordinate with product and business teams to translate requirements into technical solutions.
- Oversee performance optimisation and ensure all systems meet scalability, security, and reliability requirements.
- Develop and mentor technical staff, fostering an environment of teamwork, continuous learning and improvement.
- Evaluate and improve development processes, tools, and infrastructure for operational efficiency.
- Represent the company in technical discussions, conferences, and partnerships.
- Stay ahead of industry trends and recommend emerging technologies to maintain a competitive edge with particular attention to leveraging AI tool adoption to accelerate/broaden product development
- Support corporate acquisition teams through the diligence process from time to time.
Requirements for Consideration
- Minimum bachelor’s degree in engineering or a physical science.
- 10+ years of experience in technical roles with a proven background NPD leadership or engineering management.
- Proven ability to manage and lead multi discipline technical teams, budgets, and large-scale projects.
- Excellent problem-solving, strategic thinking, and leadership skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to work with stakeholders and executives.
Preferred skills and qualifications
- Higher degree in Engineering, Physics or related field.
- Experience managing teams in US, Europe, India or Far East
- Experience working with customers/key accounts to obtain commercially viable VOC
- Previous experience working with a senior management team
