Position Summary

 

Taylor Hobson is looking for an Apprentice – CNC Machinist to join their Machine Shop. This is a full time role and will require the Apprentice to attend college 1 day a week as part of their Apprenticeship course.

 

Key Responsibilities

 

  • Develop the ability and skills to produce a range of world leading metrology products, understanding core metrology concepts and techniques, supporting all areas of the business.

  • Work to high standards of quality throughout the Machine Shop to deliver excellence in customer service.

  • Learn core machining fundamentals and knowledge base, supporting long term development.

  • Develop lean and continuous improvement skills to improve day to day operations.

  • Become a part of both the Apprentice and Machine Shop teams, working together to achieve success.

  • Display an ability and desire to develop and grow with the business.

  • Develop understanding and knowledge of all aspects of Taylor Hobson Operations through secondment placements in other areas of the business.

  • Training to be competent in producing high quality components to tight drawing tolerances in given time scales within the machine shop.

  • Be trained to be able to set-up both CNC and manual machine tools and make fine adjustments to produce accurate components.

  • To have the willingness to learn how to inspect components to tight tolerances with standard inspection equipment including CMM.

Experience/Qualifications

 

  • Minimum of 5 GCSE’s at grade C or above to include Math’s, English Language and Science

  • The ability to demonstrate enthusiasm, accountability, and initiative, along with taking a pride in the quality of work you produce.

  • A willingness to go the extra mile to help the team succeed.
