Job Description: 

Leads employees in performing a wide variety of production operations, while performing direct production work

 

DUTIES:

  • Determines and organizes work assignments and delegates those assignments.
  • Performs direct work demonstrating the ability to perform any of the various operations within the group.
  • Maintains workflow, ensures availability of proper materials, tools and fixtures.
  • Monitors safety practices and housekeeping.
  • Interacts with other departments to resolve problems that interfere with productivity.
  • Trains new and less experienced operators.
  • Completes employee performance appraisals and handles sensitive and difficult employee situations and disciplinary actions.
  • Participates in various department meetings.
  • Maintains confidentiality of company and employee information.
  • Adheres to safety and company policies and procedures.
  • Performs other duties as requested, directed or assigned.

 

REQUIREMENTS:

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred.
  • Six to eight years of experience preferred.  
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Demonstrates accuracy and thoroughness, strong attention to detail and quality.
  • Strong work ethic and problem-solving skills.
  • Consistently at work and on time, keeps commitments and meets deadlines; ability to work overtime as needed.
  • Responds to management direction and follows instructions; listens well and gets clarification as required.
  • Ability to work in a team setting and contribute to building a positive team spirit. Follows company policies and procedures; supports safety initiatives.
  • Adapts to changes in the work environment.
  • Ability to speak effectively within the work group.
  • Ability to apply basic mathematical concepts (addition, subtraction, multiplication, etc.)
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand for eight (8) hours; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; talk or hear; or smell.  

 

The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.  Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

 

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts. The noise level in the work environment is moderate (~75dba).

Compensation

Employee Type:  Hourly
Salary Minimum:  $45,000
Salary Maximum:  $60,000
