Job Description: 

Scope of Role:

As a Team Leader you will be working closely with the repair operations management team to take ownership for your area of responsibility. You will be responsible for monitoring production performance against agreed KPI metrics. Take the active lead in monitoring and guiding the team.

 

Main Duties/Responsibilities (Leader)

 

  • Provide leadership to team members in order to meet Workshop objectives and production targets.
  • Lead daily team meetings to share information with the team members, and when required provide feedback on the performance of the Workshop to the management team.
  • Manage and address staff related issues as required.
  • Maintain a quality culture within the workshop, and ensure the safety and quality policy is enforced.
  • Be responsible for liaising with the workshop management team in the training of staff and maintaining skills matrices, giving regular feedback on progress to the management team.
  • In conjunction with management, conduct appraisals and performance reviews in line with corporate policies
  • Continuously review processes and recommend or implement improvement activities.
  • Ensure all team members comply with the Health & Safety procedures
  • Ensure all equipment is safe to use, calibrated and regularly maintained.
  • Working with the management team to approve holiday and absence.
  • Liaise with Operations management team as an integral part of the workload planning process.

 

Main Duties/Responsibilities (Technical)

 

  • Undertake precise mechanical work and electronics repair including through hole and surface mounted components.
  • Complete fault finding, repair and testing process using specialised and general-purpose test equipment
  • Undertake work in accordance with the manufacture’s component maintenance manual and regulatory approvals and the company’s quality system.
  • Complete accurate and legible repair records and ensure they are filed in a timely manner.
  • Maintain an agreed level of quality and cost effectiveness, ensuring accuracy and safety standards are met.
  • Keep abreast of company working practices and procedures.
  • Undertake cross-training in other technical areas in line with the requirements of the business.
  • Understand and utilise the Quantum system to ensure effective delivery.

 

Qualifications:

 

  • Relevant technical qualification at or above NVQ level 3, HNC or recognised trade qualification or relevant military education.
  • Engineering Degree (ideally Aerospace or Avionic)
