Divisional Vice President (DVP), Business Unit Manager – MRO Europe
Role Overview
The DVP, Business Unit Manager – MRO Europe is responsible for the strategic direction, operating performance, and profit and loss of AMETEK’s European MRO business unit, comprising multiple third‑party MRO companies including AEM, Antavia, and Muirhead.
This leader will capitalise on operational and commercial synergies across the sites, while respecting individual brand identities, to create a cohesive strategy that drives revenue growth, market expansion, operational excellence, and increased profitability.
Reporting into senior divisional leadership, this role carries succession potential for the VP & General Manager, MRO Division and is suited to a proven, hands‑on leader capable of scaling a complex, multi‑site aerospace MRO operation.
Key Accountabilities
Business Leadership & Financial Ownership
- Full P&L responsibility for an $80–90M European MRO business unit
- Delivery of:
- 7–10% year‑on‑year revenue growth
- 10–15% bottom‑line growth
- Sustained EBITDA performance of 15%+
- Establish accountability and performance discipline across all sites and leadership teams
- Personally present annual plans, strategy, and performance updates to senior leadership
Strategy & Growth Execution
- Develop and execute the Business Unit Strategic Plan, aligned to AMETEK’s four‑pronged growth strategy:
- Operational Excellence
- Strategic Acquisitions & Alliances
- Global & Market Expansion
- New Product & Capability Development
- Provide long‑term vision while translating strategy into executable annual budgets and action plans
- Identify and drive organic growth opportunities and cross‑selling across European sites
- Support and lead acquisition identification, evaluation, due diligence and integration
Customer, Sales & Market Expansion
- Proactively engage key customers and develop strategic partnerships
- Work closely with regional and national sales teams using a hands‑on, customer‑facing approach
- Leverage deep knowledge of the third‑party MRO market to increase customer base and market share
- Evaluate and refine sales structures, incentive plans, and go‑to‑market strategies to drive top‑line growth
Product Development & Engineering Capability
- Accelerate New Product Introduction (NPI) / New Product Development (NPD) across all sites
- Prioritise new repairs and services that:
- Lower cost
- Improve margins
- Deliver value for customers
- Improve speed and effectiveness of NPI implementation into operational workflows
- Ensure engineering and operational talent is sufficient; upgrade capability where required
- Leverage AMETEK India engineering resources to increase engineering productivity where applicable
Operational Excellence
- Drive improved performance across:
- Turnaround time
- Working capital
- Customer satisfaction
- Productivity and margin
- Deploy Lean, visual management, and structured action planning across all sites
- Create consistency and best‑practice adoption in MRO processes, sourcing, and customer fulfilment

Financial Management & Governance
- Maintain rigorous financial control including:
- Sales and EBITDA management
- Cash flow and working capital
- Inventory control
- Cost management
- Participate fully in AMETEK financial reporting rhythms (weekly, monthly, quarterly)
- Develop financially sound growth proposals spanning:
- New products and capabilities
- Acquisitions
- Strategic partnerships
- Business model evolution
Performance Evaluation Criteria

Required Experience & Qualifications
Essential
- Proven track record in general management / business unit leadership within aerospace MRO
- Extensive third‑party MRO experience (sales/marketing exposure advantageous)
- Multi‑site leadership experience
- P&L ownership of businesses with $50M+ revenue, ideally in global operations
- Strong financial acumen: sales, EBITDA, cash, inventory, budgeting
- Demonstrated success leading organisational and operational transformation
- Direct leadership of engineering and manufacturing operations
- Proven ability to develop and execute profitable growth strategies
Preferred
- Experience in publicly traded or highly performance‑driven organisations
- Background including technical education and progressive leadership roles
- Experience evaluating and executing acquisitions
- Advanced strategic planning, market analysis, pricing, and go‑to‑market expertise
Education
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or technical discipline (required)
- Master’s Degree or MBA (strongly preferred)
