Calibration Technician

Role Overview
We are seeking a highly motivated Calibration Technician to join our specialist Calibration Laboratory at AMETEK MRO. In this role, you will be instrumental in ensuring the precision, reliability, and compliance of a wide range of avionics and electronic test equipment. Working with UKAS‑accredited and traceable instrumentation, you will support calibration excellence in strict accordance with ISO 9001 and ISO/IEC 17025 standards.

Key Responsibilities
- Perform calibration of RF and electronic equipment, including battery chargers/analysers and air data test sets, using approved procedures and recognised metrology practices
- Accurately complete calibration certificates, records, and supporting documentation
- Support and participate in UKAS and accreditation audits, ensuring continued compliance
- Develop and maintain measurement uncertainty budgets for customer calibrations
- Diagnose equipment that fails calibration and carry out repairs to ensure compliance prior to re‑calibration
- Undertake component‑level repair, restoring full operational functionality of test equipment
What You Will Bring
- Proven experience as a Calibration Technician, ideally within aerospace, manufacturing, or another highly regulated environment
- Technical qualification such as Degree, HND, or HNC (preferred)
- Strong understanding of calibration principles, methodologies, and RF theory
- Hands‑on experience with specialist test equipment, including:
- Spectrum analysers
- Pulse generators
- Oscilloscopes
- Excellent working knowledge of BS EN ISO/IEC 17025:2017
- Ability to diagnose and repair equipment at component level
- Competence in interpreting circuit diagrams and troubleshooting electronic and RF circuits
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team
- High attention to detail and commitment to exceptional quality standards
- Recognised trade qualification or relevant military training is highly advantageous
