Role Overview
As an Avionics Technician, you will play a key role in the repair and overhaul of aircraft communication and navigation systems, including radar and radio audio units. Working across technologies ranging from analogue electronics to complex microprocessor and RF circuitry, you will carry out detailed mechanical and electronic repairs using specialist test equipment.
All work is performed in accordance with regulatory approvals, manufacturer maintenance manuals, and the company’s quality system, ensuring the highest standards of safety, accuracy, and compliance.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform precise mechanical and electronic repairs, including through-hole and surface-mount component work
- Conduct fault finding, repair, and testing using specialist and general-purpose test equipment
- Work in strict accordance with CMMs, regulatory approvals, and company quality procedures
- Accurately complete and maintain clear, legible repair documentation
- Maintain agreed quality and cost-effectiveness targets
- Ensure accuracy, safety, and compliance at all times
- Stay up to date with company procedures and working practices
- Participate in cross-training across other technical areas in line with business needs
Required Qualifications
- Relevant technical qualification at NVQ Level 3 or above, HNC, recognised trade qualification, or relevant military training/education
- Proven experience working with avionics systems, electronics repair, or comparable technical environments (desirable)
