Job Title:  Credit Controller, FARO - UPT Division

Location:

Lake Mary, FL, US, 32746

Business Unit:  FARO Creaform
Posting Date:  Jan 29, 2026
Job Description:

FARO is an imaging company - and an imagining company. We envision a better, more insightful, and more powerful world realized through digital 3D means and measurement technologies. Right from the start, we have helped our customers make better decisions - faster and more accurately than anyone else in the industry.

We work with the largest companies on the planet to provide the solutions that enable them to overcome their most pressing industry challenges. In aerospace and automotive, we work with firms like SpaceX, NASA, Tesla, and Volvo among others. In the construction industry, we work with the largest builders to scan and design astonishing projects. For public safety professionals, our forensics scanning tools solve crimes and document scenes with high tech gear you probably see on CSI and in the movies!

We believe that if it can be dreamed it can also be measured. And if it can be measured, it can also be realized.

We are seeking a Credit Controller to lead the transformation of the credit & collections function from a predominantly overdue cash‑collection model to a proactive, upstream credit control organization.  This individual will establish global policies, controls and automation to prevent overdue exposure before it occurs - balancing revenue growth and customer experience with disciplined risk management.  They will partner across Sales, BU Controlling, Shared Services, and IT to embed credit rigor into the order lifecycle (pre‑order, order entry, fulfilment, billing) and industrialize dunning/ collections with modern tooling.

Duties and Responsibilities

1) Strategy & governance

  • Define the global Credit Policy, Credit Limit framework, and Customer Risk Segmentation (by exposure, country risk, payment behavior and terms) and maintain exceptions governance through a cross‑functional Credit Council
  • Establish SOX‑aligned internal controls for credit approvals, credit holds, and terms changes; maintaining evidence and self‑testing cadence in partnership with the BU Controller
  • Standardize upstream processes leveraging existing AR/ Order‑to‑Cash narratives and strengthen pre‑billing validations to eliminate downstream disputes and issues

2) Upstream credit control (pre‑order to billing)

  • Embed credit checks in customer onboarding, master‑data changes, and order entry; ensure real‑time credit limit evaluation and documented overrides with rationale and approval trails.
  • Create playbooks for sales/CS to manage credit holds and prepayment requirements; define clear SLAs to minimize cycle disruption while protecting exposure.
  • Drive terms standardization (net terms, milestone billing, down payments) per segment and geography.

3) Collections excellence (reactive → preventive)

  • Drive a global cadence for disputes resolution, root‑cause elimination, and “first invoice right”.
  • Coach regional AR/Collections teams; harmonize case prioritization, contact strategies, settlement guidelines, and escalation paths; partner with regional Credit Managers to drive consistency while respecting local requirements

4) Risk & portfolio management

  • Maintain portfolio‑level exposure views (by BU, customer, and country) and recommend hedging or payment security (LCs, guarantees, insurance) for high‑risk accounts.
  • Oversee periodic credit re‑underwriting and limit refresh; define triggers (rapid growth, aging drift, negative payment signals).

5) Stakeholder engagement

  • Partner with Sales leadership on deal structuring to align commercial ambition with risk tolerance; institute “Go/No‑Go” discipline for exceptions.
  • Collaborate with IT and Data teams to ensure master‑data quality (customer groupings, payment terms, credit groups) and reporting integrity.

Knowledge, Skills, and Experience

  • 5+ years in Credit Management/Order‑to‑Cash with multi‑region scope; proven transformation leadership in ~$100M–$400M revenue environments
  • Hands‑on experience with Credit Management & Dunning (or equivalent), including policy design and process embedding
  • Strong command of SOX 404 internal controls and evidence requirements for credit approvals, DLA and AR reporting
  • Expertise in customer risk assessment, credit limit methodology and country risk
  • Fluency in partnering across Sales, BU Controlling, Shared Services/SSC and IT
  • Track record of reducing DSO and bad debt while enabling growth
  • Data‑driven and Process mindset; comfortable with AI‑enabled tooling and process mining; ability to author policies and train LCR teams
  • Strong interpersonal skills to connect across the organization and a proven ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Operations, Finance, Engineering, Sales & Marketing and executive leadership.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex financial information to non-financial stakeholders clearly and effectively.
  • Exceptional analytical abilities with a keen eye for detail

Job Requirements

  • BA education preferably in Finance/ Accounting/ Economics and/ or professional credit qualification (e.g., NACM, CICM/ICM.
  • Experience working with regional Credit Managers and AR Leads across US/EU/APAC to harmonize practice while meeting local compliance needs (e.g., country‑specific dunning/terms).

  • DSO, CEI, % orders passing automated credit checks, % invoices first‑time‑right, aging profile (30/60/90), dispute cycle time, forecasted vs. actual cash collections, write‑off rate, % adoption of automated dunning, audit findings (zero significant deficiencies).
