We are seeking a Financial Controller (m/f/d), located in Germany, Korntal-Münchingen.

The Financial Controller is a senior FARO BU finance role based in Korntal-Münchingen, supporting Germany and wider EMEA. The role drives financial reporting quality, statutory accounting, stewardship of company assets, local GAAP compliance and disciplined bridge to the US GAAP leading ledger. The role works across Germany, EMEA, Corporate Tax, shared service teams, external advisors, Operational Finance and Finance process owners to resolve accounting and control issues that affect the integrity of reporting.
The role supports accounting, reporting, statutory compliance and process improvement across stewardship areas, including issues that arise across OTC, P2P and R2R process flows. Forecast and budget support as required through accounting insight, cost centre ownership support and actual performance understanding.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Serve as a senior FARO BU finance leader for Germany and wider EMEA, driving financial reporting quality, stewardship, statutory compliance and disciplined bridge from local GAAP to the US GAAP leading ledger.
  • Own and co-ordinate statutory accounting support across EMEA countries, including Germany, ensuring local GAAP compliance, audit readiness, reliable supporting schedules and effective collaboration with external advisors and Corporate Tax.
  • Strengthen the integrity of reporting by helping resolve accounting issues that sit across OTC, P2P and R2R process flows, working with Finance process owners to fix root causes and improve control outcomes.
  • Drive close, reporting and reconciliation discipline, with particular focus on Germany balance sheet controls and EMEA balance sheet control support where defined by the BU Controller and Assistant Controller.
  • Support budget and forecast work as required, including partnering with Operational Finance to improve cost centre ownership across EMEA and connect forecast assumptions, actual performance and accounting understanding.
  • Lead process improvement across stewardship areas, including SOX documentation, process narratives, reconciliation quality, local GAAP to US GAAP bridges, statutory audit evidence and issue remediation.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience
  • Strong technical accounting capability across US GAAP, German HGB/local GAAP and broader EMEA statutory reporting requirements.
  • Practical understanding of how local GAAP results bridge to a US GAAP leading ledger, including audit trail, reconciliations, adjustments and reporting package requirements.
  • Experience in financial reporting, record-to-report, statutory accounting, balance sheet control, SOX, internal controls and external audit support.
  • Working knowledge of OTC, P2P and R2R process flows and how process quality underpins stewardship of company assets and reporting integrity.
  • Experience collaborating with Finance process owners, Operational Finance, BU Controllers, Assistant Controllers, Corporate Tax, shared service teams and external advisors.
  • Advanced Excel, SAP and ERP/reporting tool capability; experience with DATEV, Lucanet or equivalent statutory/consolidation reporting tools is advantageous.
  • Strong analytical judgement, attention to detail and ability to convert complex accounting and process issues into clear actions.
Job Requirements
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration or a related field.
  • Professional accounting qualification, German statutory accounting experience or equivalent technical finance background preferred.
  • At least 8-10 years of progressive finance and accounting experience, ideally in a multinational manufacturing, technology or service environment.
  • Proven ability to lead statutory accounting, close, reporting, balance sheet control, audit readiness and control remediation activities.
  • Ability to operate hands-on while also providing senior finance leadership across Germany, EMEA and the FARO BU matrix organisation.
  • Demonstrated ability and willingness to use AI tools to improve productivity, decision-making, work quality, and to reduce costs. The successful candidate must be able to identify appropriate AI use cases and critically evaluate AI-generated outputs
Key Performance Indicators
  • On-time and high-quality monthly close, statutory reporting and audit support milestones.
  • Clear, controlled and well-supported local GAAP to US GAAP bridge documentation.
  • Improved reconciliation quality, balance sheet support and evidence of review for Germany and defined EMEA areas.
  • Timely identification and resolution of accounting issues arising across OTC, P2P and R2R process flows.
  • SOX, process narrative, reconciliation template and management review evidence improvements with fewer repeat issues.
  • Improved cost centre ownership support across EMEA through better connection of operational finance, actual performance and accounting insight.
Additional Details
